As a starry-eyed child, I wanted to believe my shining prince would ride up on a white horse, present a diamond ring, and carry me away to his castle. His love would be endless and our lives would be the happily ever after all girls dreamed about. I never knew the fairytale was nothing more than a lie.I was a good girl.Until one night, one tiny trip, one little mistake, one moment of indiscretion. When I fell down the rabbit hole, I stumbled into the absolute fantasy, succumbing to their whims and rituals. As their very naughty girl, I embraced the…

How do I start this review? Where do I actually begin to relate this rather wondrous and fascinating tale? First, let me say that as you go further and further into the story, you realize that you are in a dreamscape. A dreamscape so perfectly created, so beautifully rendered, that you have the actual experience of a dream. I’ve read books depicting dreams, altered reality, in the past. But I’ve never experienced anything close to where this book took me.It’s not a typical romance. It’s more of an erotic adventure into an alternate state of consciousness. Geez, Kailee, did you feel like you were dreaming when you wrote it? You had to.Kailee Reese Samuels is probably one of most gifted writers I’ve read in recent years. She paints tapestries with words. She creates worlds that possess both darkness and light. Her characters hold you firm in either love or hate, there’s no such thing as disinterest in her writing. This is an amazing piece of literature. When I realized what was actually happening in this story, I got teary eyed, and trust me, I’m a tough nut to flipping crack. I know I’m involved in a story when I say things aloud, and I made audible statements many times in this reading. My family would ask me what the heck I was reading when they would hear me speak while reading. Are you looking for something unique? Something that will pull all your emotions to the surface? Well, look no further. You just found it. Highly recommended.

I love this new dark telling series the authors are writing. This one threw me a bit. At first I was like eh, I don’t like this Heroine. I am not seeing any redeeming qualities. She is crazy and is letting anyone have a go at her. Wrong.Everything that we thought is upside down. Now we get a look at this broken girl that had gone through so much trama in her life, that she shatters. I can’t say I don’t blame her. While I don’t agree with what she did to main love squeeze, I can’t help wonder if because it’s all illusion this was her way of coping. Man there is a lot, super lot, of sexy time in this book, with a wide range of different preferences going on. The ending is HEA and I loved the ending.

**Note: This book is categorized on AMZ as Dark Fantasy Horror. It would be a mistake to go into it looking for a HEA romance. It never claimed to be such.** “So much noise… So much noise… clocks ticking… cards flying…”With that out of the way… My first statement would be to look before you jump. Never, EVER has that applied more to a KRS book than here. As has been noted repeatedly, the title was absolutely straightforward for a rare change. Here lies Madness, in its most clinical sense. With that being said, the meat of the story is a, true to the original text, retelling of the Lewis Carroll favorite, Alice in Wonderland. There are only a handful of finer details that weren’t referenced or represented. I won’t (and they certainly won’t) spoil anyone’s experience though.Onto the fangirling 😉 With all due eloquence, WOW, WOW, WOW. I’ll be totally frank and say they this is not at ALL what I was anticipating from a Samuels approach. That detracted not a bit from my immersion and dare I say…addiction? I DID want more. Is that not often the case with this author though? For the *Ranierofangirls out there, this one is a bit of a “spot the Sugargrove character”. That adds a bit of fun too 😘“Go back to the fairytale…”“Go back to the fairytale…”“Go back to the fairytale…”There isn’t MUCH I can about the plot if I’m brutally honest. Spoilers will be REAL friggin hard to make sense of 😆 Is it DARK, TWISTED, TOTALLY F’D UP, HOTTER THAN HADES??? Oh yes, yes indeed 😈You’ve GOT to read this one for yourself. In more than one sense. NO one could properly explain it to you. Additionally, it’s a phenomenal edition to the Sinister Fairytales Collection. The prose is out of this world. The opening poem (somewhere between a ballad and a sestina, forgive my ignorance here) is the perfect drumroll. To you, the brave reader, I say hold the hell onto your seat and just enjoy it. Stop trying to make sense of Madness when indeed, there is little to be found.“You need to stop thinking and actually doing. Do what makes you happy.”

Well as a first book of my 2020 reading challenge, this book was too crazy for me.There were aspects I liked, but overall this book just didn’t captivate me like 2 others from The Sinister Fairy tale collection I already read. The rating is somewhere between 2 and 3.

  5. Elaine Holcomb

I love this dark and naughty twist on the Alice in Wonderland tale.. My heart broke for Lyssa right from the start, and I wondered if she’d make it out of the rabbit hole, or would she even want to. It was fun and at times challenging figuring out who the characters were, several from previous KRS books have fallen down the hole as well. The Merrymen, OH MY YES!!! Who wouldn’t want all that attention? But at what price will she pay to defeat the Queen and have love and some “normal”. The twists in this tale are surprising and will make you gasp, I love Twig and the feeling between them. But The Mistress and the rest of her Merrymen… lets just say, they will leave you tingling. But in the end, will she escape or stay, will she find her love. Will the Madness continue or will she become whole, does she truly want to be free of it? Madness is part of The Sinister Fairytales and if you loved Alice, then take a chance and jump down the rabbit hole with Ms Samuels

Eh.. 2.7 maybe?I really wanted to like this, and while the ending somewhat salvaged the previous 200+ pages, the whole thing just felt very shallow. The character development wasn’t present. While in her mind the entire book, Ellison wasn’t likeable to me at all. The rules in place in Darkland seemed to change for no reason at all (she’s not allowed to sleep with anyone, but yet is jumping on dicks left and right… Twig is THE ONE but she’s having sex with everyone else at every turn)… The whole thing made me want to hit her. And overall, there just wasn’t enough story. I want to drown in a books world, not get up to my ankles and realize that’s the extent of the depth. While the story had a reverse harem vibe, I wouldn’t really call it such…Idk, definitely not a favorite of mine. The ending was very open ended, and while it would be interesting to continue the story, I’m not sure I could convince myself it would be worth it.I did like this authors writing style, and I appreciated the whimsical prose that somewhat resembled a bumbling Lewis Carroll tale… I think had there been more depth of actual story and character development, I would have really liked this book.

“If you always fear your heart—breaking—you’ll never know what true love can do.”Holy…this book is not for the faint of heart. Madness is filled with beautifully dark chaos. I’m not going to lie the beginning was a little rough to read but I’m drawn to the dark so of course I loved it. I was intrigued to see how KRS was going to put her signature twist on this tale. When I say it’s not like anything I expected I mean it blew my freakin mind.“I want to be free from my demons.”This is part of the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection, it is not a sweet and fluffy read. It is dark and shocking and will leave you thinking, what did I just read?! One of the things I love about going into a KRS book is I can never figure out what will happen next. Everything means something and nothing is as it seems. If you crave the dark you will love this twisted spin of a classic tale. “I’ll meet you on the other side of tomorrow.”

Kaylee does an amazing job of capturing the names of a mind. As the story unfolds the reader is in as much a state of uncertainty as Ellison. Much like the original tale, Ellison must learn to grown-up and let go.

  9. MONA LIVSEY

This sure as hell isn’t one of the fairytales I was told as a child, but hot damn does this one twist the sheets or what!?!?!This is so not a HEA, let’s get that said right away. It is a twisted dark tale, in which you seriously do not know top from bottom. And the Rabbit surely smoked something to not want to be late! There is so much beauty in the ugliness that it is scary. Scars that define us are incredibly beautiful.Kailee Reese Samuels is an incredible writer that has such a wonderful way to drag you down that rabbit hole and keep you strapped and restrained all the way through this intoxicating adventure.Juliet is found if you really look deep and the Merrymen will haunt you in the most delicious and delightful ways.

I’m not sure how to write this review. This is a challenging story and topic. A mentally unstable young lady takes a trip down the rabbit hole. In the chaos and madness will she find the truth or just fall further into oblivion? Is it reality or a nightmare?Once again, Ms. Samuels takes a delicate topic and spins in her vortex of amazing storytelling. She manages to bring about a transformation that is heart breaking and beautify when the answers are known. This book has stayed with me for days and has moved me in a way that few books do. I want to believe fairy tales can come true.Much love Kailee! I’m so happy Twig’s other half has finally arrived.

  11. Kat Meeks

“I was the butterfly. And my wings were never perfect. They frayed with a jagged edge dusted with bitterness to… save me.”This book is Alice in Wonderland on a trip. And that’s dying something if you’ve seen the movies. It is absolute madness. So crazy good and with such enjoyable characters that you’re hooked from the first page.”Eventually, the fallacy spoke becomes the truth.”There are so many things in this book to talk about, but I’m not going to give it away for everyone else. Just take in mind, not everything is as it seems and everyone has an ulterior motive. If you like things a bit dark and depraved, this is definitely the book for you.

The perfect title for the journey you are about to embark on…the riveting and psychotic take on the classic fairytale, Alice in Wonderland. Don’t expect cute and whimsical characters, or endearing animals and creatures, or even a simple plot. You will not find those things here, but what you will find, is an enchanting, dark, wild, mind-bending story sprinkled with a few smile-inducing moments. With these expectations, you will be thrilled, horrified, mystified, and surprised as you eagerly turn page after page. Make a pot of tea, grab some snacks, and settle down to read this sovery fantastical tale …

  13. Scott Ryan

Not a surprise…but holy crap! Madness indeed. Waayyyyy down the rabbit hole. Definite clues who the various Merrymen are. There also have been too many Maddys I have heard about this fall! But it is tied up in the end, in a good way. I also missed clues as to who Zag was. Seriously twisted, in a KRS way. Might feel a bit disjointed at the time, but does make sense, especially knowing that one may not admit to one’s self what you have done.

  14. Mary S.

Wow! This madness definitely blow my mind. Since the first page it was all craziness you didn’t know what the heck was going on until the last page. And just let say that I want more of Ellison I felt that there is still so much to see and to give her a hea that would be just perfect for her and who ever she ends up being with. I just love all this madness.

  15. Jaime Reynolds

This story definitely threw me down a rabbit hole. I’m in a legit what did I just read state of mind, even though I understood as I was reading. My brain is just overloaded. It’s utter brilliance the way this author takes a known story, develops these alternative ideas and weaves them in unforgettable tales. All I can say is madness is just that and one story you need to experience for yourself!!!

  16. Kristy Crow

As an up and coming Psychologist, this is pure madness. Maybe I am just a little madder after reading this. Insane, crazy, murderous, what can we say? Kailee is pure madness. We love what comes out of those fingers every time a new book arrives and this one is one for the books. Worth a read. Do you like Dark reads I doubt you can get darker? PURE Fricking MADNESS!!!

I have no idea what I just read, I only know it was everything a twisted, dark wonderland story should be, and I loved it. It’s crazy. Absolutely crazy. This book won’t be for everyone, but you should try it because it could be for you. And missing out would also be crazy.

  18. Chelle Dunklee

I have always loved fairytales and this took me for a ride that was emotionally charged with twists and turns, and insane chemistry. This author weaved webs with her words making me read until the unfortunate last page. A must read.

  19. N. Watson

I am very much enjoying these fairytale retellings. The unique twists keep the pages turning and me glued to every word. I so very much enjoyed the trip down this rabbit hole.

  20. Wendy@Cr8zysockbookblock

I have to say Madness is by far the most dark and insanely twisted retelling of the sinister fairy tales collection so far. At least in my opinion. This book is as its titled… Pure delicious, mind blowing Madness! This take or retelling of Alice in Wonderland will leave you simultaneously blown away as wondering exactly WTF did I just read?!?!This is Ellison’s story. She is nothing short of insane. She’s the driver of the crazy train y’all. She started off the book with her insanity and I was like “oh dang, well we going right to crazy town on the first page, okay, okay.”Now IRL Alice and Wonderland isn’t even a fairytale I care for, But I can definitely get on board with this kinda Wonderland! I mean this is a RH (reverse harem) so it’s a sensual and hot and dirty wonderland. Heck’s yes!I don’t want to give any spoilers away so I will just say… Get ready!! Prepare to fall down a devious, dark and twisted rabbit hole of madness and mayhem. There was so much going on and it was crazy, and chaotic. It was wild and really dark. It will have everyone going just a little mad at least for a minute. I think this is definitely one of those books I could go back and read again and probably catch something I might have missed out on the first time, because there are so many characters and so much happening at one time. I am just a fan of dark and twisted, so this is right up my alley. This sinister fairy tales collection is amazing and this is a fantastic part of it. Definitely recommend for those who love twisted tales. If RH or blood and gore offends you, then this is most definitely NOT the book for you. But if you are open minded about those things I think you will love this book!*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book!My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!⭐️⭐⭐⭐️- Totally dark and twisted retelling. Recommend for dark romance fans who also love RH!🔥🔥🔥🔥-CRAZY RH HOTNESS! 🧨 💥🌪Cliffhanger Warning-No cliffhanger!🔫Trigger Warning- This book does contain violence, blood, gore and is a Reverse Harem. If you are offended by these things this is Not the book for you!

Madness is one thing that you will feel while reading this book. I have never read a book of Kailee’s before and this was one heck of an initiation. I finished a couple days ago and I’m still trying to make sense of my feelings, this book, and this author. Kailee is either a genius at writing about madness so you can’t follow along or a MASTER at evoking more than feelings while reading a book and making you think you are mad as well. Most people know the story of Alice in Wonderland and the curious, daydreaming girl who is often giving herself advice.Well, I hate to say that Madness is more than an adult version of this. Kailee’s version is a psychological trip that has themes of fantasy, dystopia, and dark, dark romance. This is NOT you’re everyday tale of Alice in Wonderland. Going back to Kailee’s writing, I sat for a few days, seriously wondering if I was going mad. To me, it didn’t make sense. It was only while reading the ending that the lightbulbs seemed to go on. Now, is that scattered writing or phenomenal storytelling? Honesty here, I think it was genius writing by Kailee Reese Samuels. I am not a dystopian reader, so this part of the story hung me up a bit, so along with confusion, I felt that I was feeling what Lys was going through. The only knock I have on Madness is that it was a little hard to follow along. Due to her writing style, it felt a little disconnected and I had to go back and re-read sections which affected the flow of the overall book.If you like dark (and I mean super dark) romance reads, Madness is one that you should take a chance on. Kailee Reese Samuels wrote one heck of a head scratcher to which she ties it up in a nice little bow at the end.

I received an ARC of this book for my honest review, it saddens me that I honestly cannot give this book more than 3 stars. The blurb is magical and I had such high expectations for this book. I have greatly enjoyed the sinister dark fairy tales collection and believed this one would be just as magical. It definitely missed its mark with me with a few different areas.1. This book is confusing. The reader is brought through to Ellison’s dreams which becomes confusing as the reader sorts through Ellison’s reality and her nightmares. Most of which the reader isn’t led to until nearly the end.2. The Dream is brought on my drug hallucinations from a severely abused young girl.3. The reverse harem that is discussed while it’s very hot it left me wondering if she wasn’t in the hallucination would she have ever acted like that, considering what she actually went through.4. The one part of this book that wasn’t confusing was the rapes. It is never mention in the blurb as a trigger. Believe me for anyone that has been through it or it is a trigger for them, it’s in here. Although in the beginning we are led to believe she was protecting someone from the act we eventually conclude it was her repeatedly going through it. Be prepared for these scenes if you read this book.5. And my last issue was that there is no closure for Ellison. The book ends with her safe, or what readers are led to believe is safety. Who truly knows considering we never really knew what was going on in this book. Her monsters aren’t caught, she’s a girl struggling to survive and everything she thought was real has been destroyed, and is left alone with 2 men she’s never met. For me it left too many unanswered questions and feeling like the story was incomplete.

If this doesn’t remind you of Alice in Wonderland, then we need to chat! I recall watching that as a child, and being swept away in the “madness” till the end when I was just in awe of what I just watched. Madness by Kailee is no different, where it starts and where it ends will have you wondering if you went thisaway instead of thataway.Ellison’s life looks perfect on the outside, till it’s not. The tragedies that follow her around have your jaw on the floor. A not-so-innocent white rabbit starts the tumble into the Darklands, and we are now primped to a level that would put the best drag queen to shame! Each twist, each tidbit of reality, each interaction has you gaping and waiting to see what will happen when the next Merryman arrives. I was racing through to find out what was, what would, and what did happen to Ellison Kingsley, as each time I thought I knew where it was going, instantly the path was swept away as if it wasn’t there and I was now on a new one. This adult, dark take on a classic was thrilling, heartbreaking, and so tantalizing you will want to be sent back to the Darkland. I definitely need the rest of this series, I have got to know what happens next! To me, this was a perfect introduction to a new to me author, as well as a great addition to The Sinister Fairy Tale Collection.

❝Madness infects those in love.❞Let me start off by saying, thus far I have loved this multi-author Sinister Fairy Tale Series so much! I was really, really excited to read Madness because Alice In Wonderland is one of my favorite books/movies. Normally, I would not even review a book that I rated this low, I absolutely hate giving anyone’s book baby a “bad” rating. BUT because it’s part of the series, I couldn’t NOT review it. So, this is going to be a very short review.Point blank, this one was just not my cup of tea…I should have been able to read this book within a few hours, at the most a day. It took me three days. I picked it up and put it down several times. I almost didn’t finish and if it had NOT been a part of this series, I would NOT have continued reading.I’m not going to get into details, and I’m going to try to be as nice as possible, I refuse to put down someone else’s work just because it wasn’t for me. BUT I also want to make sure I am writing MY honest review.First off, it’s read like someone was on a crazy, acid trip and decided to write a book about what was going on in their drug hazed mind. Seriously, it is just ALL over the place. I know that Alice in Wonderland was a little… weird, but I just could not understand what in the heck was going on with this one from one minute to the next. It was like I would be in the middle of a sentence and then that sentence would just out of nowhere start talking about something totally different and never really finishing what the beginning of the sentence was about ?? I know that doesn’t make sense, but this book made no sense to me either, so that’s the only way I know how to explain it. Everything is just totally confusing and totally random.❝In the tale of The Darkland She won it from the shrew With his big bang in her hand She made it go pew pew But this ******* love story wasn’t over Ain’t even close to through Girl! Rise the maiden from the mud Douse in princess glitter With his tragic midlife crisis He gained her surrender Forever to claim and collar Being her defender.❞HUH!?!?! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ This was part of “The Pitch” which I assume is meant to be like a prologue of sorts or something? I have no idea, the “quote” is actually longer than this but this is just the end of it…Secondly, the sexy scenes… Madness if FILLED with a whole lot of em you guys and usually I’m ALLL for that… but even most of those are just WEIRD!❝I go wild beneath his control, soaking around his shaft, and slightly rocking against his pillar trapped within my sanctuary.❞Umm… hmm… 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️Madness drove me absolutely mad… and it was NOT in a good way. There was no real “story” behind it all. I mean it was… but it REALLY wasn’t. Even the ending where I somewhat “thought” that things would come together and actually make sense of the whole mess, didn’t. I was even more confused!!!I am not familiar with any of Kailee Reese Samuels‘s work so I’m not going to hold this one against her and will definitely check out something else that she’s released, but this one was a complete dud for me.F.Y.I – I absolutely hate that I had to write this review and I have waited as long as possible to post my review as to hopefully not interfere with the author’s ratings.Up next is Siren by Hazel Grace and although Grace is another new to me author but from the teasers I have seen, I have high hopes that Siren will get this series back on track for me!🎩🐰ℂ𝕠𝕟𝕗𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕆𝕗 𝔸 𝔹𝕝𝕚𝕠𝕡𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕖’𝕤 𝕆𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕒𝕝𝕝 ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘🐰🎩⭐️⭐️ – Again, I normally would not even leave a review for a book that I rated this low (I usually won’t review anything less than three stars) and the ONLY reason I’m reviewing Madness is because it’s part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Series. This one was just way too weird and way too confusing for me to even attempt to enjoy. Not my cup of tea… Looking forward to Siren though!🔥🔥 – There is a whole lot of steamy scenes in Madness, I’d almost say to many sexy scenes actually and even those were just confusing and weird.🌪 ℂ𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕗𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕣 𝕎𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 – No cliffhanger, although I STILL have no freakin clue what happened or what ACTUALLY went on, so who knows, there could have been and I just didn’t get it. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️⚠️ 𝕋𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕘𝕖𝕣 𝕎𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 – There are difficult subjects that could be considered triggers.𝑰 𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒑𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌.

Madness (Sinister Fairy Tales series) by Kailee Reese Samuels. This was a very dark, twisted and kinky spin on the the story of Alice in Wonderland. Instead of Alice the young lady was Ellison aka Lyssa. Instead of Lyssa going to Wonderland she is in the Darklands. Darklands is quite the metaphor for this place. Lyssa is a mentally sick young lady who finds herself committed to an institution for 10 years for murder. I can say the story pulled me in at the beginning and I felt like I had fell down the rabbit hole along with Lyssa. Her mind was fractured along with mine. I was taken on a twisted and kinky psychological trip were I thought I was on a serious hit of LSD. I couldn’t tell what was real and what her mind had conjured up. I do know the men were hot and the sex was even hotter. Quite the psychedelic trip. Pay attention! This was my first time reading this author. I didn’t know what to think about this story but by the time I got to the end not only was my mind psychologically blown but I was extremely happy at how this trip was concluded. Looking forward to reading more stories from this author. 4 stars for me.

I was first drawn to Madness because of its cover, it’s beautiful, simple, and just very aesthetically pleasing to me and I was curious about it. I figured that it would be an Alice in Wonderland re-telling with a title like that and when I checked out the synopsis I saw that it was and also that it would be a reverse harem romance. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would read it since that particular sub-genre is still pretty new to me, but I’m committed to this collection, so I did want to take a chance on Madness. And for the most part I really enjoyed it, I loved the world that Ms. Samuels built, it was fascinating and recognizable, but also unique and completely of her own making.Madness was the perfect title because it definitely had that kind of vibe and I was able to follow along most of the time, though there were a few instances where I had to play catch-up. I didn’t always feel comfortable, but this book truly surprised me in places and despite those little lost moments, I don’t regret reading Madness at all. It was super steamy, unexpected, and there was never a dull moment.

Madness is a part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection. A retelling of Alice of Wonderland. I liked this book because it was different than any retelling I’ve read of this. The scenes were hot and dirty. It was definitely dark and twisted. Lys story is very dark and deadly. I did have several bouts of confusion. I know this tale is meant to have riddles and rhymes but I found myself stopping to reread things several times to try and keep up and understand what was happening. Trying to differentiate reality was very confusing at times for me. In the end, all the pieces fall into place and her story is even more sinister than it appeared. I loved Lys’s character because she is so unapologetic! She is truly a strong character trying to survive her world and that’s so remarkable. I don’t want to give anything away so I will stay vague. This is a powerful retelling, I think if I appreciated the story of allision and rhymes more that this would have been a fantastic read for me. I think I just can’t fully comprehend this book the way it needs to be read. I did like what I interpreted and loved the main character. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

  28. SCBookAddict

Madness felt like a blend between a retelling of Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz (Maybe it was just me but I couldn’t help but see both throughout this story.)This story was a reverse harem that had all the crazy moments one would expect with the title Madness. The story starts off normal and then quickly shifts to a darker story and I am all for it. It’s not long that we are taken on that Alice-like ride we are so familiar with – just now we have the adult version. (Sorry, no kids allowed.)While I enjoyed the book, I didn’t feel connected to the characters as much as I wanted to. To me, it seemed that once the plot thickened (which I enjoyed because it gave me that “WTF” moment), the characters relationships to each other seemed to thin out and disconnect. I really wish it had a better balance between the two.If you are easily offended, stay away. It is a RH after all. If you like wild and crazy and stuff that messes with your mind, this may be just what you need.

  29. Book Boyfriend Whoarder Mari

The title of the book captions this story completely. The beginning was captivating, I was able to get sucked right in. Then a couple chapters later I wasn’t sure if I was reading the same book or not. It didn’t flow for me.There were times I saw bits of what captured me in the beginning then it was lost in the chaos of the story. That’s what this story is, maddening chaos. Not sure if the author tried to be poetic at times to stick to the theme of the fairytale. I just didn’t get it.It’s dark, I’ll give the author that.Lys, isn’t a character I’m able to connect with.Romance was missed here. Because you can’t connect to any other character but Lys, there’s not much depth in the romance department. No chemistry, no magnetism. Sure there were very steamy parts but romance isn’t just about sexy times.I’m hoping the next round in this Sinister collection lives up to the first predecessors, because the last couple haven’t at all.

  30. Sissy

Madness by Kailee Reese Samuels is part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection. This is the Dark spin off of the retelling of Alice In Wonderland. This whole series is about fairy tail stories that are turned Dark and this one is really that. Our young girl has been treated awful and of course when she is older acts on that darkness that she has been in. Of course there is the rabbit hole that she enters into later that opens her up to another level of darkness. If you like a dark read with some hotness in it this quick read is for you.

  31. Tianna

I knew going in that if this author wrote it there was a certain amount of mind funk I was going to be in. I wasn’t in the mind space for this book right now so that is reflective in my review. I didn’t hate it I just didn’t love it. Kailee always pushes the limits and I know that. In some ways it was brilliant and in others I wondered what I just read. With the “Alice in wonderland ” theme you already know it’s going to be quite the fantasy, but when you throw in Ms Samuels twist it’s definitely going to take you plunging down the rabbit hole. After things settle in my life I may go back and reread. I know I’ll have a different opinion when I’m not drowning. I still crave the dark queen so I’ll be looking forward to what’s next.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

***3.5 Stars***This book is part of collection. Different takes on different fairytales written by different authors. This is the first book I have read by Kailee. Honestly, I’m still not completely sure what I read. The I was hooked once I started reading. This book is a different take on Alice in wonderland. It is super steamy and a good read. I am torn with this book. Things just kind of happened. Many times, I thought I missed something. Then the book just kind of ended. I felt for Ellison. She has gone through some tough things. Her mind has created this world so she can deal with it. Which kind of makes the book make a little bit of sense.

  33. Nina

This book was madness alright … crazy madness. My mind is an utter mess right now. This story was insane. There`s so much – too much? – happening at once that I found myself going back a few times to catch up or look up if missed something. It didn’t make this one the easiest read … but to me it was still absolutely worth it. Why? Because in all honesty, it fits the type of crazy that is the Alice in Wonderland fairy tale – with its own brand of twists thrown into the mix. It’s clever. It’s dark. Even disturbing, maybe a bit frightening. It’s detailed too. And smoking hot. Most definitely a whole lot of strange. Odd and original. Well, you get the drift. And it’s all I’m going to say about this one. Buckle up for this crazy RH story! Are you ready for your kinda psychedelic trip down the rabbit hole…?

Kailee Reese Samuels is a brand new author for me.&I am finding that this Sinister Fairy Tale Collection is really opening my eyes and bringing new and amazing authors into my life.Madness, is a retelling of Alice in Wonderland. It is seriously a hard story to really explain. You feel like you are on some sort of trip….almost like something someone would experience on an acid trip.Kailee does an amazing job bringing dark and sinister alive in this retelling, and included a reverse harem, which is one of my favorite relationships to read about. This is one of those books that you just don’t want to give anything away about. This is one of the those reviews that is going to tell you, go into this book without knowing anything. Take it on with a free and clear mind….and get lost in its..Madness.Kailee constructed such an intriguing and addicting story that I could barely put down. At one point I took the dog outside, put her on her long leash, and just sat and read in the quiet, because I just needed that peace to be able to focus and take this whole story in.It really was THAT good. This story has quickly made its way onto the very small list of books that I would reread…and that is a VERY rare trait when it comes to me and the stories I read.If you are a fan and have been following the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection, I definitely advise that you continue with that streak, and read Madness.&For those of you that haven’t been actively involved in following the collection, that is okay, because this story is a standalone, and you should still dive in and give it the chance that it deserves. I do not think that anyone will find themselves disappointed. This is one of those books that you pick up, start reading, and get so lost in the story that you are unable to put it down until you hit 100%.So, give it a chance, give it a try. You are going to love the uniqueness of this Alice in Wonderland retelling!

Most of the time, Alice in Wonderland is not my cup of tea. (pun intended) The original tale, it’s full of weird sh!t that makes absolutely no sense. For this reason alone, Madness was a perfect retelling of Alice in Wonderland, I had no freaking idea what was going on in this book. The prologue, I thought it was amazing! Gripped me from the very start. And just as immediately, I was thoroughly lost by the second half of chapter one. New characters popped up out of nowhere, with little to no introduction. I tried to correlate them with AiW characters, but I couldn’t make that work for most of them. This, the fact that a lot of characters had short rhyming names, as well as very scarce descriptions, it all made it too hard to keep track of who most people were. And transitions between scenes had me all over the place. One minute we were with this person, the next second, we’re traveling with someone new for an unknown reason. I just felt everything about this story was too chaotic for me to enjoy.I also don’t understand how it’s classified as romance, if it indeed is. I felt absolutely no connection between any of the many characters. There maybe could have been something with Twig had there been more details on the page. All I got was lots of sex with everyone. I wouldn’t categorize it as RH as many other reviewers have done, as most scenes were one-on-one. There was F/F and the insinuation of M/M in case anyone needs to know about that, as well as a scene of a few characters together. I will say, the Sinister part of the classification is right though, it’s pretty dark. And the twist at the end, brilliant. I just wish the whole book would have been written better so it could have been enjoyed.*Book borrowed through kindle unlimited

I was so excited to get this author’s interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. I love a good dark retelling of Fairytales. This one sadly didn’t live up to my expectations. I was thrown off at first with the dialogue then the storyline was confusing at times. I loved the reverse harem aspect of the story. Other than that I couldn’t connect with the characters. This author has an amazing way with words and has created unique story. I just feel like I have too many questions after I finished.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Madness is a crazy, dark, sexual retelling of one of our favorite Wonderland fairy tales. At parts, I was in absolute awe when things started coming together. Others, I was in complete shock. Am I actually reading this? Is this really happening? Every page brought a new depth and dimension to the story. From the very first page, I was hooked. Something grabbed a hold of my attention and never let up. ‘Something’ being raw, unfiltered talent as a writer. Being able to capture your audience from the first page and not drag them down a road that they never wanted to go, is the epitome of skill. Instead, Kailee lead us down an unexpected and amazing path that we didn’t realize that we, in fact, did want to go down. Take a chance of Madness, you will be happily surprised.

  38. Maria Hunt

If there was ever a book that lived up to its title it would definitely be Madness. This crazy, wild ride of a retelling was a naughty and quite maddening read. I felt a bit as though I had tumbled down the rabbit’s hole right alongside Ellison and enjoyed the unexpected journey she took me on. The vivid imagery and incredible creatures drew me right into Ellison’s story as they held me captive and always eager to know more. I was a definite fan of the Merrymen and hope that this is not the last time I’ve seen them. Though this was my first read from this author I’m ‘sovery’ thrilled to have gotten a bit lost in Madness and will be keeping my fingers crossed for so much more.

  39. Allyson

This book is just like the title MADNESS!!! This is a first retelling of Alice in Wonderland that I have read and maybe that is where I kinda got thrown off course. I loved loved loved the parts I could grasp and dang there were some really hot, fan your face times. I will probably have to go back and read this again at my pace so maybe I catch things I missed because I have questions. The writing and the story were great and I was really into it. I could picture the scenes in my head, you have to have an imagination for this book. I know I am rambling but that is what reading one of Kailee’s books will do to you … so good!!!

  40. Jess

This is what happens when you fall down the rabbit hole and it takes a dark twist. This is not my first retelling of Alice but definitely the most messed up. Kailee’s version had that surreal, not quite sober, feel like the original story. It was told in that same poetic nature and featured some of the same unique characters. It also had this dark and demon-like quality along with some serious heat.A good addition to this series of fairytales and a story I actually didn’t expect. Kailee made similar yet wildly different characters. It really was pure madness. It made me feel like I was in another dimension right along with the characters, it was just a real wildly dark and crazy story.

  41. LynnStifle

Wow absolutely loved this book!! This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and definitely not the last! This is a dark fantastic twist on on Alice in Wonderland! From the first page until the last I was completely enthralled. This book was exciting, twisted, dark, and I loved every single page of it!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

***5 ‘Use Caution When Approaching’ Stars***Madness is definitely the name of the game here because even though I devoured this book and fully comprehended all that it threw at me, I’m still in total ‘WT$ did I just read’ mode where I’m trying to get the wonky going on in my head to chill out so I can attempt to do a review that is just this side of verbal vomit and In all honesty I probably shouldn’t be typing away, but I am, so here goes nothing….As with any Alice re-telling, one expects crazy, and I’ve read my fair share of them lately but this one goes beyond anything I’ve read to date. It’s dark, it’s gritty and it’s disturbing, but it has its ‘moments’. Those strangely sweet moments that have your heart melting even with all the chaos going. And it has those smexy ones that just kind of happen. And this mix absolutely captivated me. I couldn’t stop reading. I was so caught up in my need to make sense of what “Alice”’s madness was, why it was happening and see her find her way through it because she was a lot stronger than she gave herself credit for.I know that this review is all kinds of verbal vomit vagueness, but it has to be because to do anymore would ruin the ride and I’d be babbling even more. So for your sake and mine, this is a short and sweet one. As for the author. This is my first time reading here and I thoroughly enjoy myself. She was able to give me the crazy that is “Alice” (actually more than) and have it all make sense in the end, which, when it comes to this world, is all you can ask for.~ Copy provided by EJBP & voluntarily reviewed ~

Ellison is a young girl with a messed up life. She retreats into a dark fantasy world much like the tale of Alice in Wonderland but much dirtier and way more screwed up. Real life is even messier and the people you should be able to trust will betray you in the worst way. A dark, sinister story about abuse, stolen childhood and learning to deal with trauma.

  44. Book Lovin’ Momma

What a darkly fresh take on an old fairy tale! It starts out already a little unhinged and then takes you on a wild journey where old secrets and new truths are peeled away like the skin of an onion. Lys’s life as she knew it took a huge twist, and along the way she finds out what her life was meant to be, how easily misconceptions can change your focus, and what it’s like to have a choice. It’s dark and lusty, but at the center of it all is finding your way home. I found myself rereading parts to make sure I was following along with Lys, but what a wild trip it was!

  45. Cinderella S

Kailee Reese Samuels, you just got yourself a life long fan. This book was NOT something I was expecting. Readers beware, strap on the harness tight and get reading to go down a dark and twisted rollercoaster ride! The story grabbed me from chapter one, and with each page, Kailee played with my psyche so well that I just kept on reading and being emerged into the story. The story flowed brilliantly and each character’s thoughts, actions, and emotions just jumped out of the pages.Another superb addition to the Sinister Fairytale collection and this story has me excited to read what the others will come up with next.

  46. Sharon S

This is a unique retelling of Alice in Wonderland appropriately named Madness. It was twisted and difficult to follow. I didn’t feel any connection to the characters and the style seemed like what I would imagine a drug induced psychedelic trip would be like. I didn’t really enjoy the story but if you are looking for something unique this would definitely fit the bill.#MSBB

4.5 Mad stars!!This is a fantastic addition to the Sinister Fairytale collection! And I’m a huge fan of this author so of course I was so excited to read it. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite Fairytales and the authors twist on it was absolutely amazing. It was dark, exciting and a bit frightening…..and I loved every twisted moment

  48. MarieV

Madness is a delectably, twisted take on one of my favorite tales. Lysa is quite the interesting character and I was instantly transported into her mind and experiencing a delightfully dark journey. For such a quick read this story was filled with wonderful imagery and the perfect level of darkness.I’m loving this series more and more with each new tale.

  49. Bo0kSl0th

I won’t lie, I was so excited about this book. Having read some other books in the collection, I was really looking forward to this retelling as it is one of my favorite classics. Oh boy was I let down. I’m not trying to be harsh, but it is such a confusing book to read. I get the premise, but when you have to go back several pages and slowing reread pages a couple times for fear you missed a key element of dialogue or change in scenery, you should know that the crazy is too CRAZY. It doesn’t compute. For example, one minute Lys is at her sister’s after being released and there is a party and the next minute they’re walking through the woods talking about their parents wealth and doing homework by a steam. At the being it’s stated that her father wanted to leave before her mother took their only car. If they have wealth, why do they only have one car?? She was released from juvie, so why are they doing homework?? I was so confused and at this point it was only like 30 pages in.It started out so promising and then it was like dream, wake, nightmare, past, present, make-believe, all streamed together for Lyssa in some kind of psychotic break. Only you, as the reader, had no idea but were pulled along with no idea what was going on, though you kept feeling like you were missing something. It really was maddening and not in a good way.I don’t know if it was because I got an ARC copy, but the typos and grammatical errors were also enough to drive me batty.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

welp… where to begin… this may be one of those long nonsensical reviews that you pass over.. that’s okay… dont read the review .. read the book. Ha. Read. If you open this book and dont go down the rabbit hole and experience it all yourself your not real. Or you’re too real… hmm?K didn’t take long before she plunged the needle into me sending me on a journey I’m not soon to forget. I didn’t make it to chapter 3 before I had to start writing my feelings down. I’m excited (in every meaning and nuance of the word). And possibly neurotic? Psychotic? Sociopathic?… who’s to know? Who’s to tell? You dont care.I’m at 17 percent. 17 is my number. I met my husband at 17. We got married on the 17th, at 5 pm (1700) I’m at 17 percent and my knees are shaking. My mind is humming my body is twitching…I’m at work and wondering why I always do this. I cant be an niece innocent bystander whilst reading a KRS masterpiece. And believe you me. This is an unbelievable, unapologetic, mind altering masterpiece!!It’s no better at home. No worse? My mind is boggled in the best way. I’m strung high, falling slow, and speeding down the path laid before me.Holy hallelujah. I am in awe of KRS. Her talent, her brilliance, her beauty. The words written on her pages are pure music. Joy, happiness, beauty, sorrow, torure… all wrapped beautifully with a delicate bow.

This is a dark tale. Its also amazing. I was so into the story that I could not put it down. The characters are deep. The story is well written and twisted. This tale is brilliant.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hate to say this but I am in awe and unfortunately it isn’t of the book, but of all the 4 and 5 stars this book was given. If you are looking for a book that is full of madness and reads like a drug induced stupor of nonsense this book is for you. You’ll love it, but if you want to read something that actually makes sense and has characters that have depth and you can connect with that grow and connect with each other then I’d skip this book. It is absolutely ridiculous with lots of sex with anyone and everyone getting it on which would be okay but please don’t turn it into love that isn’t love. They literally just met and a few hours later it’s love? Then she leaves him runs info his mistress and she seduces her next why you may ask just like Lys did the answer was she needed to be loved by a woman and afterwards she felt the love she gave her but then Lys said but you love Sig (who is the master of Twig that she just claimed to love a little before.) If your thinking this is going to be a HEA reverse harem just in super fast forward with her adding to her harem think again. I could go on and on with all that’s wrong with this book but I’ve already wasted enough time reading this book to spend more time writing 4 more paragraphs of what went wrong with this book.I will say if you still are interested after reading this I wish you the best of luck finding what you are looking for in the madness. I will say the first few pages are the best in my opinion.

  53. Kindle Customer

This is a dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland. It is part of the Sinister Series. Not my favorite because Venom and Siren really were spectacular, but it was still very good. It cleverly portrays the female protagonist as someone who is mentally disturbed and slips through the rabbit hole to go on wild adventures. It is funny at times, sexual and maddening as well. You will see a lot of the same characters but in different and possibly more disturbing ways. It is definitely worth the read. I only wish it would have had some illustrations to go with it.

  54. Bookerina Lovington

I enjoyed this!I’m not a big Alice in Wonderland fan, but I thought this story was really good. The writing was fantastic and the plot was really well constructed. If you’re looking for just a simple HEA, this probably shouldn’t be the book to go to. But it is a really good read.

  55. Sara Callaway

This was probably one of the craziest books I’ve ever read… You better prepare yourself because you are in for a wild ride. I can’t even fathom where in earth she came up with this story but I don’t put anything past this author at all. She will take you for a wild ride that’s for sure.

  56. EE

I was lost for a while, but the imagery and lyrically quality to the writing kept me going. I had a feeling it would all come together in the end. It did. 98% end, but it did.

  57. Sarah P

This is a great addition to this series

  58. Casey

I only made it a few chapters in before I just couldn’t make myself continue. I can tell that the author has talent and the idea of this re-imagining of Alice in Wonderlans is compelling.. but the back and forth nonsensical writing was just not for me.

  59. Michelle V.

Alice In Wonderland is one of my favorite fairytales and this author took me on a dark, twisted ride with her version and I will admit I loved every delicious page. I don’t want to give anything away because this book needs to be read and fully enjoyed by each reader. Every time I read one of KRS’s books I am left speechless, lost in thought and wondering when I can get my hands on the next one. Thank you Kailee for another unforgettable story! If you’ve ever read any of this author’s books then you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for, get reading!

  60. Ashley Cestra

I love the idea of this sinister fairy tales collection, it started off so strong, I still have high hopes for the collection as a whole, but madness was a hot mess of a story. I couldn’t keep up. This was a DNF for me. I finally gave up at the 50% mark. I really tried. The first 12% before she went into wonderland was EXCELLENT! This author was off to a very strong start. I loved the doorway she created with all the possibilities to unfold, . Unfortunately words didn’t hold up to her idea of story and it swallowed her. There was so much weird reverse heram scenes with all this kinky sex and I felt like the story died and went to…. Christians red room of pain. Normally I don’t mind reading kink but this was just way out of left field. The main character was set up wrong and that’s what bothered me the most….I won’t be finishing this story, and hope the next one up in the collection is better

  61. Dani Marlowe

Kailee Reese Samuels did a great job on this story. Madness had a strong plot, the story was written well with strong characters. So much happened in this story, it’s packed with many emotions, it was filled with mystery, darkness, ups and downs, twists and more. This was a great story. I enjoyed it.Thank you, Kailee Reese Samuels. Great work 🙂

  62. Marcie (@thecliteraturecorner)

I am finding it hard to find the right words to describe this amazingly well written dark, twisted, and flipping hot mind screw of a read.Kailee has floored me with her talent of storytelling with her own take of Alice in Wonderland. This book is dark, and I am talking very dark. It is twisted and the steam…holy schnikes. When I got to the ending, I got another surprise – I didn’t expect to read what I read AT ALL and I love the fact that I got slapped with the unexpected twist. I am not going to description of the story itself though – I don’t want to give anything away. Because this book is more than a read, it’s a flipping experience. If you are the least bit sensitive to the darker side of romance, be warned because this read is sinister. But if you can play in the dark, definitely grab this one and enjoy the ride. I know I didI received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is one case where the book title is dead on when it comes to the content inside and it is another fabulous addition to the Sinister Fairytale Collection. I will caution those to read with care as there are graphic descriptions. This is a retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland with a dark spin that follows true to the original. “This is your terrain. We’re all just figments of your imagination.” All is not as it seems and the more the reader dares to delve into the story, the more it plays like the C&C Music Factory song “Things That Make You Go Humm.” From the beginning prepare yourself for the wicked prose that seems to seep under your skin as you willingly follow down the rabbit hole just to find out what will come next. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.

  64. SassyKebKerr

Ellison is a young woman who lives in her head and needs to find a place where she is safe and protected. She falls down the rabbit hole and finds that safety in her mind. This story was so dark, twisted, and awesome to read. I would love more of it to find out what will happen to Ellison. She’s a broken girl who needs someone in her corner to pull her out of the darkness and give her life that she can live and thrive in. This was my first read of Kailee Reese Samuels, but I bought another one of her books right after finishing this one. I give this story a 5-star review and I cannot stress enough that you should one-click this book and the others in the Sinister Fairy Tales to read. They are not your ordinary fairy tales.

  65. Tllevchuk

Ok so I’m going to try to out my thoughts about this book into words but be forewarned I’m not sure how good it will be. This book had my mind jumping all over the place. This is the first retelling of Alice In Wonderland I’ve read and I’ve only seen the movie once and never read the original book so that might be why. But, that didn’t make me love this version any less. In fact I absolutely loved it. If you are thinking about reading it just remember that the small details matter. Madness was truly the best possible title because it really does walk you through madness like you are the one who is in fact mad but like it says in the book aren’t we all and that is what I got from the story that we are all messed up and we all struggle with dark the parts of ourselves.

  66. Jenny B

What a deliciously dark twisted rendition of Alice in Wonderland. This book had me mind blown in the opening chapter with the broken psyche of the main character and Kailee delivers a magnificent tale that is a perfectly imperfect blending of a dark psychological tale. The writing and the flow had me on the edge of my seat and truly left me speechless after all was said and done. The characters were truly brilliantly written to the point where I could feel every emotion being written about straight to my bone. This book is truly a delicious dark ride that if you are willing to go on will not let you down.

  67. SimplyNik

Madness was gifted to me for an honest review. I thought I had out grown fairytales, since I have been ARC reading the Sinister Fairytale Collection I am blown away. Kailee Reese Samuels weaved a beautifully rich and improved Alice in Wonderland story. But it also part Daisy Six and hot sexy times combined to give Alice the literal trip of a life time. I was hooked from page one.Lys the main character is this pyscho/ emu/ brazen chick that will consume you. Once you think you have figured her out, your wrong because its at that point, when Lys becomes Ellison you then realize you are in a dream space. I don’t want to give any spoilers. This book was hot, intense and really fun to read.Get this one. Chase down the rabbit hole, you will survive.

  68. Lil-monster

The title of this book says it all!!! It’s pure Madness!!!! I loved loved loved this book so twisted and dark and again Kailee doesn’t disappoint. I found at times thinking what the hell is going on but then I love stories like this that keep me guessing what’s gonna happen next. Twisted story of Alice in Wonderland only this isn’t for kids!!!!!! Lots of blood, sex, gore, some light BDSM and of course a nice little surprise at the end. Don’t wanna say too much of the story as you need to read this to believe it!!!! Kailee will never stop being one of my favourite authors and I’m always looking forward to what is coming next!!!!

  69. Ashley A. Carr

This is a new author to me and I can’t believe I haven’t read her work sooner. The story takes you down the literal rabbit hole with its dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland reverse harem style. This story is pure crazy! Ellison is fractured and doesn’t realize what is reality and imaginary. This is her dark and twisted tale of regaining the throne. I can’t wait for another addition to this dark and twisted series!

  70. Christina Concus

My first thought of this book was what in the world am I reading! After reading some more I did start to grasp more of an understanding of what I thought was going on. Oh, boy was I wrong!!!This book was full of twists and was such a dark read, so if you are wanting a HEA please be warned you will not be getting one with this book. This book is a great addition to the Sinister Fairy Tales as a version of Alice in Wonderland.

  71. ida jolley

Madness is definitely the correct title for this book. Alice in Wonderland had quite the journey it seems. At first I wasn’t sure what I was reading. What a long strange trip it must have been. I found it to be a fantasy in her mind. Alittle different from what I remember but it was strange, funny, and even tragic in some places. I wasn’t sure who was on this adventure, me or the character. It will definitely leave you feeling like what did I just read. It was certainly a different type of book then my normal. Enjoy

  72. jwm

This was such a messed up story, but in a really good way! Ellison is crazy. She killed her family and is now following a hot rabbit-man down a hole. She meets the sexy Merrymen and the Mistress and must save the kingdom from the evil Queen. She has some sexy and sometimes painful adventures in her quest to not only save the kingdom, but herself. This was wonderfully written with very interesting characters and great world building.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow, I didn’t expect to love this book, I am not a great fan of Alice in Wonderland, but let me tell you this book surpassed my expectations. I definitely will be reading more of this stories by author in the future. I couldn’t get my head straight after I finished it, it blowed my mind in a good way, it’s dark and twisted with lots of psychology behind it. A must read!

  74. jc

There is dark and there is twisted and then there is KRS! Wow…my mind is still all messed up! There is really no way to explain this book without spoilers so all I will say is first, beware because it may cause triggers and second be prepared for the exact title of this book! This is definitely one that I have to take a day to calm my brain and then go back and reread. If you think you have read it all then you have NOT read KRS so be prepared for one crazy hell of a ride!

  75. Terri Anderson Burke

MADNESS is a dark twisted retelling of Alice in Wonderland. This tale is so complex and twisted, I had to go back and re read a few times. The “Alice” character has had nothing but trauma in her young life. She copes by going down a “rabbit hole”. While in the darkland, she grows stronger, learns to love herself and allows herself to love. I loved the ending. The surprise characters at the end was a great touch. I also loved that “rabbit hole” is closing and has no need anymore.

  76. Gina Yingwane

Kailee has done it again with her poetic prose of a dark and tragic fall down a rabbit hole of redemption. Ellison takes a trip of a lifetime to heal a heart filled with lies and to find her voice…..she has some help from a group of well known Merrymen. 🙂 Even though Ellison’s story is dark, there are plenty of uplifting and “keep fighting” moments that draw you to her character and the characters of those who are helping her fight. It left my jaw on the floor but my heart warmed in the end.

  77. Krysten Moreno

I was not sure how I was going to like this book because its Alice and Wonderland and I have a love/hate relationship with Alice but I love the Mad Hatter so honestly this book had a lot to live up to and boy did it ever. I loved it, it was chaotic and messy and crazy just how I picture wonderland to be it was amazing and honestly I have to say I so like this one way more then the Disney one. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

  78. Reeny

First off this entire retelling of fairy tales in a dark and twisted way is fantastic!! I have loved all of them so far. This is the retelling of Alice In Wonderland and it is incredible, get ready for the rabbit hole because once you fall down you aren’t coming back until you read the last page!! This is a dark and very twisted story. Sexy and so delicious. This is a must read! I loved every minute.

I truly enjoy stories touching on fairy tales. This one is dark and twisted, as was expected. I was never really a fan of Alice in Wonderland, but this was more interesting by far. If you tend to enjoy the occasional ride on the crazy train, then you will enjoy this story.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Once again I’m completely wowed by this author. I swear it doesn’t matter what she writes she writes it well. The characters are complex and interesting. The plot is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything! I’ve been not so patiently waiting for this book and all I can say to sum up this review is it was completely worth the wait. I was hooked beginning to end.

From start to finish, the character build up was so perfect. I could feel every emotion as if I was present. I am so I was able to experience this and was along for the ride. Such a fantastic read. Once again, Kailee you have captivated me and made me fall more in love with your words!!!!

This book is the epitome of the title-complete madness. I have no reservations when I read-give me anything, and I can appreciate any kind of brilliant writing. That being said, I just really don’t think this book was my cup of tea. I’ve loved every other book in this collection so far-they’ve left me salivating for more. This book just left me terribly confused, and had me questioning several times if I should push through and finish. The book is a RH, but it’s so short, and underdeveloped in my opinion, that it was so hard to connect to any character. A lot of scenes felt rushed and not very descriptive so there was a lot of me going back and re-reading passages.I actually love Alice in Wonderland- I love how dark and morbid it can be. I’ll be the first one admitting to listening to White Rabbit while staring at my tapestry of a caterpillar smoking a hookah telling Alice to “Feed your Head.” I had high expectations but this definitely missed the mark for me. It may intrigue you, so I would encourage you to try it out if you are also into dark romance.

READ WITH CAUTION – TRIGGER WARNINGThis book was truly the MADNESS like the title says. Nothing that you saw before will prepare for what this story holds.Ellison has a sister, but this sister won’t do anything about their parents so Ellison will take everything into her hands. After doing what she had to she will be put into a mental facility and from there all boArders will turn into a blur as she will go down the home like a proper jumper. There will be everything that we know from the original story – so stay braced and keep close to the surface of your consciousness. The ending will be a high surprise that had left me with want for what could happen next!

So I expected a dark fairytale retelling, but not an erotic one. This didn’t put me off though. It’s a loosely based retelling of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Ellison is a mentally disturbed teen who went through traumatic events as a child some by her own doing. During a party, she is seduced by Whit who sends her down the rabbit hole of depravity. Making her way through Wonderland to dethrone the Queen, she is met with a slew of characters who help her along the way. This adventure helps shape who Ellison wants to be and sheds her past in order to become a better person. This book is not for the faint of heart as it deals with sexual abuse, rape, and murder. It’s a twisted, sexual tale but well worth the read.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Truly Maddening!!!! This crazy, wonderful, yet utterly dark book reflects the title in the most devastating way. A retelling of Alice in Wonderland that will leave you completely and utterly scarred for life in a unique and twisted way and I loved it. Ellison Kingsley is so broken and tortured in her head that it breaks your heart. She ends up in a world unlike any other, a world full of fantasy and illusion, but to some a nightmare. Ellison belongs now to the Darkland and his crazy demented ways but this story has so many twists that the romance you don’t see coming. I enjoyed all the characters to the fullest as they all bring a resemblance to the beloved fairy tale but the darkness of the story is addictive and I highly recommend it.
