Iris has lost her husband Chance, her entire world, as she says “I am going to be in love with you regardless of the cover of your book for the rest of my life.” *swoon*. That alone is but one exemplary sentence in the beauty that is Samuels’ writing.Chance leaves behind a key, that takes her to a house in Sugargrove, Texas. Which upon arrival walks Iris into an entirely new world in Juliet, an academy for those seeking to learn submission and the world beyond the vanilla lifestyle. This is all more than Iris could have ever imagined, her entire marriage was shrouded in secrets and her world implodes. Entire Salvatore Raniero.Occasionally in life, we come across someone, who with just one look, will immediately take a piece of our heart. No matter the hurt or the distance, they will always carry that piece with them, like a prized possession. This is Iris and Sal. Whatever it is they want of each other, it cannot happen until each of them find their true selves. Even if it means tearing each other apart in the process. As Samuels writes: “Unfortunately for both of them, they were both blinded by their stubborn streaks to see the magic of what existed between them.”The story of Juliet is so much more than just Iris and Sal. There are many people that play a key role in Juliet, who come together to make a merry band of misfits family. Acceptance and love are at the heart of this family. Samuels has created an entire world in Juliet, with so many rich characters, the possibility to follow each of them can create an entire mini-library for the reader. As is evident in her author profile, such worlds are being created. Juliet is not a quick read, there are 654 pages that introduce us to an entirely new world that is above and beyond what most of us could ever dream. There is so much beauty, eroticism, and heartbreak in Juliet, it’s more than just a book, it’s a world that begs to be delved into.

KRS and her books including Juliet are unique. Most of her books are significantly longer than average. Have you ever read a “book” that ended just when things started to get interesting, then paid $0.99 for every 100 pages after that? If you’ve experienced that frustration you will appreciate the length and depth of her writing. Many reviews note that this book is complicated/convoluted/confusing. In some regards I agree. The changes of POV are not clearly defined at times. Juliet, and the surrounding series are complicated. There are a lot of characters. And those characters like real people are constantly changing and evolving. Along with the fact that many of them have irons in more than one fire. Is Sal a secret agent, a guy running from his mafia responsibilities as the only male offspring in the family, golden boy of Juliet? He’s all of those things and so much more. So not the easiest read ever, but for the readers who truly enjoy character development it’s worth having to pay attention to what you’re reading. If typical “mafia romance” is your thing, you might not like this book, or her others. This is not bad man captures beautiful young woman, said woman sees he’s been damaged, they fall in love, HEA.Think of Juliet as the sample plate, with a little bit of everything. Because of that the salad was sometimes eaten after the cake. It was all delectable, but not always consumed in the way you would expect.Juliet was the first jump out of the gate for KRS, and it shows. She has a whole world she has brought to life. Her writing has evolved in a beautiful and fantastic way. At the time this book was published I believe KRS was happy with it, at this point in her development as a writer I’m sure she’d love to do some editing. Her storytelling has shifted and improved exponentially. I understand that a lot of people want a perfectly written book, this isn’t that book. If that’s what you are looking for I suggest Beautiful Things Evil People Do.Another thing that has come up is genre. Juliet was what I would classify as dark romance. But KRS as an author doesn’t fit into a single box. Looking at the whole of her catalog I’d say her books are suspenseful dark mafia romance/erotic thriller. Yeah it’s complicated, but it damn sure isn’t boring. So if you’re looking for something different, a bit of a challenge, with a story you can sink your teeth into? Give Juliet and KRS a chance. I promise you will be thinking about this cast of characters for a long time to come.

Hi, My name is, Jamie. I like dark and dirty books. I read the synopsis/blurb (whatever the damn thing is called) for Juliet by Kaliee Reese Samuels, and I just knew this would be the PB to my Jelly, the wiener to my bun. You get what I’m saying. WOWZA! I’m not sure if my mediocre review writing is worthy of this. Kaliee Reese Samuels is extremely talented. The story is loaded with plot twist and just pure juicy goodness. You really should read it, I promise you won’t be disappointed. This is about Iris’ discovery of herself. Married and widowed young, Iris finds herself lost, but with clues left behind by her deceased husband she is on the path to a new and empowered Iris. She finds herself at Juliet a BDSM school. Iris is determined to find herself in the world of submission. Iris learns so much about the woman and the life she’d like live.“While he couldn’t understand why, Sal knew Iris was his game changer, but even she didn’t want to play with him.”Iris isn’t the only one who is learning things. Salvatore Raniero. Sal. He is alpha deliciousness. (Thanks, Kaliee) Sal is a super sub at Juliet. Everyone wants him and all the subs want to be him. Sal is amazing and I really enjoyed reading and connecting with him, but he is not without his own struggles.

The author has a true gift for conveying an emotional experience to the reader, and showing characters evolving with experience. Five stars for that. Four stars for quite good and better-than-expected character development, world building, overall story arc, and eroticism. However, the story meanders disjointedly and the descriptions of the mental journey of the characters, and their behaviors, become repetitive. A serious flaw, for a work of this length, is that the interesting threads are not pulled together by the end and nothing is resolved in this volume. A star is therefore deducted for execution; expectations were raised but not rewarded. Another star is deducted for faulty grammar, vocabulary (frequent use of the wrong word), unclear and misleading antecedents, and sentence structure (treated as optional). These factors make it a painful read if you’re anal about such practical details, and detract significantly from an enjoyable read. If the author were to employ an able editor and take their advice, I think she’s capable of producing a classic. As it stands, while I’m curious about how the story evolves, I’ve lost confidence that the story is going to get somewhere or even that the author knows the destination.

This was a newly discovered author for me, and after reading blurbs and teasers, I decided to go all in!!! I’m reading them all, as I have to learn more, the characters jump out of the pages at you and you laugh with them, get shocked or surprised, oh yes, definitely get angry!! This story starts out with a young girl and teacher, he’s a widow and she has no clue about life or emotions really. They build their friendship and over time, feelings develop, Iris is so naive and Chance seems unsure with her. But after life and separation she finds him and they get married and build a life…. Until, she hears of an accident, Chance was in the military and wouldn’t be coming home. Therein the REAL journey begins, she is left a box, clues inside, numbers and address, which leads her to Sugargrove and a great cast of characters.. She’s grieving, but trying to manage and figure out why she was there, what did it all mean to Chance? She’s taking under someones wings and is taken to an “special” party. There our Iris will meet Sal… Holy hotness!! The bond with them is so strong and at times, they see each other as best friends, but throughout the whole story here the can feel and hear the attraction between them.. But this journey IS NOT gentle, Sal is the golden boy, the super sub, but is he truly? You see a Dominant come out at times, especially with Iris, but that man has some emotional baggage.. he needs the attention, the love, the pain and he goes from woman to woman, getting what he needs, till even that isn’t working Now Iris will have so much to work thru and at some heartbreaking moments it’s Sal that is there for her. She heals and explores and tries to find herself, and boy is there quite a few that want to help her along.. You will want to slap both Sal and Iris at times, they can be so vicious and cruel to each other, then run to the other because they cant stand the thought of not being together. You will love so many of Kailee Reese Samuels characters, she has written so many layers to them, and things are very rarely as they seem, as many mistakes some of them make, friendship and loyalty will be tested, there is such a sense of family. And OMG… Jack, I want more, his back story, his future, to see if he finds the one that can take and accept him! Towards the end of Juliet I was screaming at Iris and Sal, why??? You’ll have to read to find out! I’m thankful I came across this author and her fabulous take on a story that is emotional, twisted, occasional dark ( be warned, the Initiation is exactly what it is) a journey of several souls who are discovering who they truly want to be and the journey it will take, I can only hope more of this is not far off. Wonderful writing of a story that isn’t explored enough!!!

  6. Scribblz

The premise of brilliant but naive introvert meets older man who checks all her boxes is one that I definitely enjoy. (My favorite being Anne Rice’s Belinda 🙂 so I really enjoyed the introduction to Iris’ character. The story then takes a slow 360 journey as the grieving, widowed Iris delves into her husband’s past involvement with a secret BDSM school. There she meets Sal the super sub who has the potential to be the perfect Dom to her previously unknown submissive side. I wish the author had focused on their relationship rather than on each of their feelings and history with multiple other people so that their connection would have felt more genuine. I’m a huge fan of passionate erotica, but I require loyalty between my characters. I felt like neither Sal nor Iris was committed to themselves never mind each other. They threw the words love around so much, but it all felt like lust and loneliness to me. Granted these are “damaged” individuals and this is meant to be a journey of growth, but considering this book was longer than average the journey should have been farther along than it was at the end of 660 pages. So I wish these characters the best, but I won’t be following them to book 2·

Iris is a devestated widow who finds, after the death of her husband, a key left for her. Because of this mystery, she sets off for Sugargrive, Texas, the home of the school for submissive and dons named Juliet. It is here where Iris meets Salvatore Raniero (our sigh worthy hero), the man who will always hold a piece of her heart and she will always hold a piece of his. This book creates an entire world, in depth and complexity. This world is made up of societal “misfits” who create a family. This world is made up of beauty, eroticism, joy and heartbreak. This is not a short read, but then it just couldn’t be in order to deliver the extraordinary experience it gives. Highly recommended.

This book was so much fun to read. It has me sucked into where I couldn’t put my Kindle down. The characters are amazing, and the way this novel is written, I can picture every character. The only issue I had with the book is that it was drawn out. It kept going in circles and made me extremely frustrated for the characters, and when you get to the end, you are left as lost as you started :/. I was praying for a happy ending, but unfortunately, it never happens.

I was very unsure of this book at first. I almost quit reading. It picked up eventually and I am glad that I powered through. This book is 600 and some pages. For those of you who want 250 page books, this is not for you. If a book is good, I love them long. Once I got into the world of Juliet, I was hooked. I lived in Juliet for a solid week and didn’t want to leave. I read in the bathroom, in grocery store lines, when I was supposed to be going to bed…It has a different take on the BDSM theme than what I’ve read before. Again, some may not be into it, but I enjoyed it. It felt more real and less kitschy. The sex wasn’t the main theme despite the backdrop of the whole book being sex. The characters and their lives were front and center.Sal and Iris did start to get on my nerves a couple times, but it wasn’t too bothersome. There were a lot of characters and I had trouble remembering all of them. I think there were a few that were not in as many scenes. Like Mitch. I had trouble understanding who he was as a character. I think his motives were purposefully vague, but his personality felt a bit empty. On the flip side, there were side characters that I loved. Kate, Stephanie, Anna, and oddly Tank. (Though Tank didn’t get much air time, he left an impression on me.) These characters were well rounded and I understood who they were and why they acted as they did. Their personalities were apparent. Some, like Cas, I was always a little on the fence as to if I really understood her personality. I liked her and understood her role in the story, but didn’t feel like I knew her.All in all, I liked this book quite a bit. In fact, the subsequent book I read felt childish after Samuels’ poetic writing. I paused on the next book in this series because I need to figure out which is the best one to read as I think I read out of order… That may be why I didn’t get all the characters.

  10. Tianna

“A love story doesn’t always go the way it should sometimes the path to Forever is a twisting spiraling and flying ride” this could not be more true for this book. This is unlike anything I’ve read thus far. It’s a very long book, somewhat of a mind freak, it will make you wonder what is going to happen next. Each time a new character is introduced the plot thickens and twist. Iris started out this meek young innocent but in the end she’s not innocent at all. On her journey to find out why her husband left her a key to a house she didn’t even know about, she starts to discover herself. No longer just a student, a daughter or a wife she wonders what she’s supposed to do next. Then she’s shown the world of Juliet and all that it offers, including the mesmerizing Sal Raniero. She’s immediately drawn to him and they have an undeniable connection. But for as much as they desire each other things are not so simple. Every plot twist brings a new obstacle. Two very broken people continue to hurt each other while trying to piece them back together again. Many things are left unanswered and I hope will be addressed in future books.

Carla’s Four Star ReviewWarning-this is a dark book which may be too much for sensitive readers.First off, I feel like I should inform other readers, that this is one long book! I usually read a book in just one sitting, but I found myself having to take a break with this one. It wasn’t due to lacking in regards to the story line, it is just a long, intense read! There are a lot of characters in this book, but they all revolve around Iris, a woman who is evolving into someone she never envisioned herself to be. She falls hard for a bad boy names Sal, and lord have mercy, the chemistry these two share is out of this world!Overall, this was a pretty good read. It is classified as graphic BDSM so know that before jumping into this one. It if filled with kink and even more kink! Great job, Kailee Reese Samuels!

  12. MONA LIVSEY

Talk about a book that twists you inside out but has you begging for more. Juliet Acadamy in Sugargrove Texas is an incredibly intriguing Acadamy that embraces the Darker Passions that engulf many of us. Iris and our beloved Sal Raniero stoke the fires that set each other free.Iris, a daughter, a student, a lover, a wife, a widow. A woman whose live spins out of control, out of her control. Where is she to go what is she to do. She is left a Box and within this box are clues to a future of knowledge that will help answer her some of her questions, but leAves her with even more questions. Then she meets Sal, when the gods created Sal, they surely broke the mold. He is a force to be reckoned with. Sal, Juliet’s GoldenBoy will join Iris on her journey of discovery and passions. Sal will help Iris heal and find herself. This book is not for the faint of heart and has a strongly sensual sexuality of its own that will embrace you if you let it. Well Done Author Kailee Reese Samuels on a Sensational Read!!!🌺♥️

Kailee Reese Samuels did a great job on this Juliet, the story was written well with a great plot. The story was filled with emotions, it’ll take you on an rollercoaster. Iris has been through so much, but she was a fighter though, she learns to cope in ways that she didn’t even she was into.I’m gonna stop there, I don’t want to give too much. It was a good story.Thank you, Kailee Reese Samuels. Great work 🙂

  14. Dragonfly

It took me a bit to get into this story. I found it to be boring in the beginning. Then the pace picked up and I loved it. Then information would come from left field and I would hate it. But it would all start making sense again and I was back to loving it. One thing I disliked all the way through was the vast introduction of characters and the lack of how they interconnected until much later in the story….this led to a lot of confusion. What I always loved was Sam’s emotions. He’s a gripping character and I got very attached to him.

  15. Amy

There is so much to this story. It is wild and untamed and totally out there. But not in a bad way. This book makes you think and pay attention to what you are reading. So intriguing to think the person you knew is not who he was. If that makes sense. So many details and so much to learn. So if you have time read this. Thought provoking and intense.I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

  16. Shelly

Confusing and disjointed sums up this long book. The bare bones of the story are there, but it is written with so many characters and POV that I was left confused and wonder what was going on.The twist in the story.if we want to call it that…was not explained well and I’m left even more confused. I kept hoping that the plot would fall into place, and sadly, it did not. While alternative lifestyles is not something I judge negatively, this cast of characters are way too much..and not realistic at all. I don’t understand Chance at all and what he left behind for the rest to have us discover.I stuck it out, and I should have quit.

  17. barbieheart

At first, Iris reminisces about her life with Chance in this heart wrenching, morose, emotional read about secrets and moving forward. Then wham! Surprises at Juliet academy, was Chance involved there? This complex book felt like two or three novels twisted together. In this book, many relationships evolve, shift, flip, expand with an extensive list of characters involved; the most complicated and tumultuous relationship being Iris and Sals’. It’s an unconventional, compelling story about truth, trust and love, with a vast number of surprises. This book will take you on quite a journey. Ends in sorrow, no conclusions or resolution.

  18. letha Gene

This is not a book for the faint of heart, and definitely not for under 18. This is a long book but worth every minute! I love love Sal and Iris and hope to see more of them. The only problem I had with this book was the flashbacks are sometimes long and drawn out. I can’t wait to read the next book Kailee Reese Samuels!

  19. Jamie Lombard

Juliet is nothing like you might be used to reading. We start with different characters and the interweave into the story. The main Sub/Dom Sal gives you a love/hate relationship with him. I loved Iris through the whole book as she tries to find herself and her confidence after a tragedy stricks, leading her to Sugargrove, Texas. There are spins and twists you would never see coming. Great job and a great book. This isn’t a fast read so if you’re looking for something to take a little bit of time and a different world to get lost in, Juliet is the place for you!

  20. Joy

This was my first read of a book by Kailee Reese Samuels. While some may say it is long, the story was so intriguing I didn’t care if it was 1,000 pages! So many characters to meet! Iris and Sal being 2 of them! Juliet Academy is in Sugargrove, TX and is where Iris ends up after her world basically implodes! She meets Sal Raneiro, a sexy, alpha, hot male and sparks fly! If you want to know what happens, then you must read this book!!! So good! Total fan now!

  21. Tammy

I loved the book, it was insightful, confusing, and very emotional.Watching the characters come to terms with not only their sexuality, but their emotions made this a very well written book. The bad part was not being able to read the whole story, I can’t wait for the next book.

  22. Megan Alexis

Hands down Juliet has my heart. This book took me to places I’ve never been. It’s not a book you just read and forget, you experience and every page sticks with you. You’ll go back and re read again and again just to recapture the feelings. The happy, the sad, the sexy, the angry. It’s just an all consuming incomprehensably (shut up it’s a word), GREAT book. I can’t wait to delve further into sugar grove! KRS has yet to write a book I didn’t love but Juliet by far is my favorite!!!

  23. Duchess of Dreams

I had a hard time ignoring the grammatical errors, missing words in sentences, extra words that missed being edited out, wrong pronouns and adjectives used as adverbs. The idea of the story started out ok but devolved into random hook ups between more and more characters. The point of view was often unclear and most of the characters were unlikeable. And what was with inserting the whole secret society/spy/hitman element? I do like long books if the world building is good and the story is good but this was a swirling mess that never arrived at a conclusion with increasing numbers of story threads. The BDSM was pretty light as well. I am glad I did not waste money on this muddle.

  24. Cunningham family

I loved this book. This is the first book that I have read on sadistic and masochist part of BDSM. I was so enthralled with the book that I couldn’t stop reading to go to bed. I read a lot of BDSM genre and this is the first one to tear at my heart strings the way that it did. I cannot wait for Juliet II to come out so I can see what happens with Iris and Sal.

  25. Lidia’s Choice

Talk about head games! The story is intriguing and full of suspense. The author kept me on the edge of my seat. Well written.

  26. Kristy Crow

WOW Please hurry with the next installment….. Sal I have your bananas LOL…. Iris and Sal belong together lets get them moving in the right direction… The book is crazy insane and if you are not into BDSM do not read it…. A little more then half way through the book takes a turn of 180 degrees and wow was a shocker… I am not here to give away what happens in the just to say WOW I love you Kailee…

  27. selam

This is not my normal read but damn it was good. Every time I thought I knew where the story was heading it shocked me.

  28. Sheila32595

First, I want to apologize to Kailee. I thought I wrote my review previously. I am not sure if it was my error, or it was deleted. This book was long, but so very good. This book has so many characters, it kept me on my toes. It was very interesting, entertaining, and quite an experience. I look forward to reading more from Kailee.

  29. nicole Townsend brown

Juliet is an amazing book. It hits you right in the heart. I fell in love with this book and so will you. Kailee Reese Samuels will magically bring you into her characters world from the first word. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and I can’t wait for more. This book is brilliantly written. A tale you won’t want to miss out on. Read this book.

  30. Kindle Customer

Written differently but that makes it, and the characters, grab you and not let you go! So much so that I found myself thinking of Sal and Iris while at work and trying to go to sleep! I generally don’t buy sequels to the first ‘free’ book but in this case I went straight to buy the next!

  31. Kindle Customer

Although I loved iris and her growth, it definitely was a lot of drama. If your into that kind of thing, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Sal and his antics.

  32. Jamillah

This was a long story but I loved it. I got to know the love story of Sal and Iris and it was explosive and heartfelt. I hope in the next book they find the love they have for each other. I loved everything about this book!!!

  33. Melissa

What an amazing world to immerse yourself in. So many characters to love and a few I’m not so sure about. Sex and secrets! Moonlit parties and mysteries! Get ready for a wild and raunchy ride…you’re gonna love it!

  34. Mmelachat

This is one of the best Erotica novels, and the longest, I’ve ever read. Fully fleshed out characters, well thought out plot lines, amazing BDSM sex & intrigue that kept me at the edge of my Kindle. Can’t wait to read the next novel.

  35. Flower Girl

I can’t say enough good things about this book. Sad sometimes but always keeping you on your toes. I can’t wait to read the next book, continuing with Sal and Iris. This book is a must read.

  36. 75_SweetestBook

Wow I love the fact that this book is. Dark read. This story may be long and a lot to process in the reading but well thought out and process to this amazing story.

  37. Kindle Customer

I laughed but cried even more. Many times WTF, was running through my mind. I would have to go back and read a few pages. I can’t wait for the next book is available. So many unanswered questions.

  38. J L Taylor

Disjointed, clumsy, long-winded, massive number of typos, what WASN’T wrong with this “story.” Not worth the time to even write this review, but I feel it’s my duty as not only as an author myself, but a voracious reader. to warn anyone else off this drivel. I am very forgiving with typos and some storyline rambling but THIS IS THE WORST I’ve seen in a long while. To think I wasted even 5 minutes on this…

  39. customer jfox6222

It became a matter of willpower to finish this book. There is suspension of disbelief, then there is a point well beyond that. Undercover submissive hit man? I wouldn’t recommend this book, but it wasn’t bad per se. Just too long, too many loose ends, and undeveloped characters.

  40. Rustie Business

This is a must BDSM read. Highs and lows, curves and swirls. Sal is one bad ass and Iris Is going to meet him head on.

  41. SG Anderson

Wow! Juliet is an amazing book. This emotional story will keep you riveted at every turn, making it impossible to stop reading. It’s a beautiful tale of two people searching for their identity and finding peace in each other. Very highly recommended!

  42. E.B.

This book took FOREVER to get through. It was all over the place and made me dizzy. And it isn’t even a standalone! Once things did start up, it seemed like it was orgy after orgy with everyone screwing everyone. Everyone tied up in emotional knots but still screwing everyone. Ugh. I expected so much more from this book when reading the description and now I just have a headache to go with my disappointment and wasted time.

  43. Kindle Customer

What a ride this book took me on. Sal and Iris kept me on my toes. Anger, happiness and fear that things would not work out how I wanted them to. You left me craving more of their story. Loved this book.

  44. WeeLittleOne

The story of Iris and Sal is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. One minute you’re happy, next minute you’re mad at one of them, if not both.

  45. Amazon Customer

This is the first time that I have read a book in this genre. I should have just deleted it after the first chapter. Instead I read on in morbid curiosity, and was taken on a wild ride into a world riddled with graphic sex, sadism, masochism and depravity. I wish I could rinse out my brain, to rid myself of the memory. The book left me feeling repulsed, dirty, sad, and sure that I will never read anything like this again.

  46. Loveisblonde

I never thought I’d ever say these words; “This book was way too over the top for me.” The mystery and suspense aspects of this book get overshadowed by the over the top sex. Just too weird for me.

  47. Adele Bookworm reader

I want to slap Sal really I do ugh…. hope they find their way to being one together. I just hope its not to late

  48. LarLaa

I loved this story ! It had so many twist and turns ! Characters that you can fall in love with ! I mean what else do you need !

So many things going on with so many characters. Great writing to follow all. Want more on all plots. Can’t wait for next book!

  51. Kindle Customer@115

Beautiful!! Ms. Samuels has a wonderful talent with words. Erotic without being vulgar. I read every spare chance I had. Even sitting in traffic.

  52. Kindle Customer

It never ended. Enter a new twist, then never explored it, it’s live the author forgot about it. Then it goes on and on and on and on, oh let’s pick up that plot twist, a pages goes by and it’s forgotten again. It got confusing – I think the author was confused. Yes a cliff hanger ,i’d just not recommend this book.

  53. Reva Burke

    Good

I’m glad it was free… I couldn’t even finish it, it was so drawn out and boring. Absolutely no sympathy for any of the characters, they were so one-dimensional.

  55. LisaA

I DNF this book. It not only was dark it was confusing to follow. I didn’t care for it so only read about a third of it.

This book had a lot going on. It starts with Iris losing her husband of 8 years then getting a key to a house in Sugargrove, TX. So she packs up her life and moves down there to discover her husband’s hidden secrets. This story is told in a 3rd person narrative and bounces around between a lot of characters. Not so many that you’re lost, but enough to get a good handle on the character’s emotions and reasons behind their actions. It mostly follows Iris and how she handles her husband’s secrets. It then morphs to a story about her and Sal and exploring her sexuality. I feel like about 1/2 way through the story, we lose Iris and focus more on the other characters to an extent that I didn’t connect with Iris’ reasons for her actions and just kind of viewed her as a super slut screwing everything to try and get back at Sal for also screwing everything.I think the story kept going in circles at a point- Sal wanting Iris, Iris wanting Sal, all the women wanting Sal and all the men wanting Iris and their relationship not going anywhere. I would like to see some growth from these characters as they obviously belong to each other. I wanted to bash my Nook when they wouldn’t just tell each other how they feel!On that note, there was A LOT of “I’m in love with you” between all the women and Sal- both parties saying it. Really? How can 1 dude be “in love” with multiple women and yet only TRULY be “in love” with Iris? It was hard for me to believe that Sal really loves Iris and isn’t just drawn to their explosive chemistry. Then in the last 1/3 of the book, we find out a huge bomb about Iris, Chance, Sal, and Jack- but not quite enough to really know what’s going on. I kind of felt like it was thrown in for the sake of it, but hopefully if there’s another book, it delves more into that portion of it.This book does kinda end in a cliffhanger- both characters going off to better themselves with the hopes of being whole for each other. All in all, I really enjoyed all the facets of the story- there was mystery, emotion (I cried a few times), and LOTS of sex. I can’t wait for the next book!I received an ARC for my honest review

Juliet by Kailee Reese Samuels was a masterfully woven tale of tangled lives and relationships all centered around Juliet . . . a training academy for submissives.Married at 18, Iris Kettles’ world is rocked when her husband is killed in action. Trying to deal with the aftermath, Iris finds a key and an address that leads her to Sugargrove Texas. Once there, Iris begins unraveling the truth about who her husband really was and what she really needs and wants to do with the rest of her life.Once in Sugargrove, Iris discovers her late husband had ties to Juliet. Iris is drawn to the academy in ways she can’t understand as well as to the people who make up the extended Juliet family. Her biggest draw is the golden boy among the submissives, Salvatore.Salvatore is also drawn to Iris, but struggles with commitment and tends to use sex as a way to avoid dealing with his emotions. Iris and Sal begin a relationship dance that takes them both on journeys of self-discovery, love, pain, anger, denial, friendship, and more . . . it is a true emotional roller coaster that neither can seem to quit. This book is extremely intense and has many points of views giving the reader into a variety of viewpoints from both submissive and dominant standpoints. I devoured this book needing and wanting to watch Iris and Sal find their ways among the Juliet society. The ancillary characters are well written and add much to the plot. Their love for one another shines through, even though the actions are not always what the reader will expect. My personal note to readers is that there are some very intense scenes, both sexually and emotionally. Make sure you have a box of tissues on standby and prepare to immerse yourself into the world of Juliet.4 stars.

I so wanted to like this book, the blurb ticked so many boxes for me but the execution left so much to be desired. At 26% into the book there had only been 2 significant events (New Orleans and Sal’s breakdown at the party) and a vague bit of information linking Chance to Juliet. At this point I didn’t know if he’d attended, had worked their, run it or what. I felt that I could have read the blurb, skipped ALL of this part and not have missed much.Personally I found the author’s style of writing incredibly difficult to read/follow and found myself constantly going back over parts of this book. I found it disjointed and confusing. Iris first meets Sal in a barn at a ‘tea party’ but his name wasn’t mentioned. When she meets him again it took me ages to link the Sal being spoken about to the unnamed guy in the barn – in a book that skipped around as it was, this just threw me out of it.I didn’t connect with Iris either, I found nothing warm, friendly or appealing about her. In fact very few characters appealed to me in this book, which on top of it’s length made it very difficult for me to read. I kept skim reading parts, to try and speed things up, and when I did ‘delve in’ it felt like wading through thick molasses. My recommendation, if the blurb sounds interesting, is to download a sample of the book and form your own opinion. I wish I could find something positive to say about the book but it just didn’t work for me, however plenty of others have enjoyed the book so perhaps it just wasn’t for me.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of Juliet and The Initiation provided by Xpresso Book Tours and the author. Thank you for the reviewing opportunity! This book is no child’s play, I devoured Juliet in 3 days (it took me that long) and I had such mixed feelings about the story.I have my fair share of books centering around BDSM and albeit being a taboo topic, I love to read about a character’s journey in exploring their sexuality. The blurb piqued my interest but it’s the plot that drew me in. This book is a breath of fresh air in the world of erotic romance, the plot was intriguing and original and Iris is a unique character that I would love to explore. I try to keep my review spoiler free so I’m going to hold my tongue and say, this is the kind of story that you have to read for yourself. Despite it being so lengthy, the writing surprisingly kept me engaged till the end! There were so much going on that you don’t feel the time, and the urge to uncover the mystery kept me driven to finish the book.I liked that the author took the time to develop the characters, although there were many POVs involved, I think it worked to give the reader’s a better insight into the background of a character. The only problem I had with the story was probably the “relationship plateau” between Sal and Iris, at some point of the story I get so frustrated I had to set the book aside, but like I said earlier, it was engaging.Overall, a great story that is worth investing in!

There’s a lot of story in here; it’s very long and I found myself needing to put it down frequently. However, it didn’t stay down for too long as I also found myself needing to pick it right back up. It’s a different type of story line and I found it quite addicting, as I was curious to see how it all came together. There are a lot of characters in this book; all of them play a role in Iris’s journey of discovering herself. To me she was a bit of a mess and I worried about her for a lot of the book. I was drawn to Sal from the beginning; he’s such an interesting character, there’s so much to him that I feel I’m missing out on because of not reading the Initiation first; I’m dying to get deeper inside of his head. I’m curious about so many of these characters and their own journeys as well.As much as I loved parts of it, there were other parts I found lacking of information, it just left me confused and needing more. If you are looking for graphic scenes, you won’t find many and they are quite tame. However there is heat from all the looks, touches, and mostly anticipation……that I found myself blushing. I have to wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if it were a duet or trilogy, spreading the story out to build excitement for the next one. This is my first book by Kailee Reese Samuels and I am curious to read The Initiation and more about Sal.A Book Lover’s Emporium

This was a difficult book to read for several reasons. First, it covers parts of BDSM that I had not been exposed to before in my reading. Next, it is longer than I am used to and took me considerably longer to read. Next, it was extremely and intricately layered and the relationships, hook-ups and friendships formed were/ are sometimes confusing. That all said, I did like the book in general. The writing I very good. The characters are well done and layered. It began simply but quickly became as confused as the heroine. Finding one’s self is a hard trip and when BDSM is thrown in it becomes much, much more. As I struggled through Iris’ own struggles to find her true self I found my own issues being confronted. I felt her pain of loss and her need for love even in the wrong places. And even if it is only sex or pain or both. I was disappointed to find that it is continued and that Sal and Iris do not have a happy ending (yet). Hope springs eternal so I will look for the next books for that conclusion. I am rooting for them both. If you are squeamish about sex or pain then this is not for you but if you want to read something that is real and sometimes harsh then this could be for you. I can certainly RECOMMEND Juliet to those folks.

2 StarsI received an advanced readers copy of Juliet in exchange for my honest review. When I was introduced to Juliet I immediately was drawn to the compelling blurb from the author about this book. It looked interesting to my senses and I honestly couldn’t wait to read it. That’s why writing this review is so hard for me.The story that the blurb reveals, doesn’t feel like the story I tried to read. I could only get about 14% through the book before I gave up. The writing switches perspectives and jumps from past to present in such a confusing manner that I was constantly lost. The story was confusing and discombobulated. It was hard to make any sense out of it. Yes this story is supposed to be dark, dangerous and definitely mysterious, however it’s attempt to do these things leaves he reader wondering who people are, who’s talking and wondering what they are talking about.I know others have enjoyed this story, and I hate leasing negative reviews, but in this case I have to.

Title: JulietAuthor: Kailee Reese Samuels5 amazing starsWhen it comes to Kailee Reese Samuels, i keep reading her stories backwards. Not that I’m complaining – much (*bursts out laughing*). The first book I read from her was Kinky, Sex, Magic and read how Sal went from sub to dominant to Iris. Then, in Tea For Two, i found out how Sal fell in love with a Domme and a sub, starting the fire of how he came to want to become a dominant himself. I fell in love with Kailee Reese Samuels’ characters in those books , but when i read Juliet, i finally understood them. This is Iris’ and Sal’s story – how Iris lost the love of her life and found friendship and love in the arms of Sal and a community she never knew existed until she moved to a small gown to finally meet her late husband’s past.4.5 sexy dreamsTo find a true, honest to goodness true, and realistic BDSM novel is rare – very few authors are able to embody and describe what the lifestyle is about. Too often the hardships, the struggle and even the disappointments are forgotten and the pleasure, pain and scenes are highlighted – yes there is that, but not all the time. Iris’ story was heartbreaking. She’s so lost without her husband that my heart went out to her. Sal’s need to save her in any way possible was tangible in way i couldn’t have expected. This was the story about a woman trying to discover who she really is after a loss she never could have guess would happen. It’s the story about a man feeling something he hasn’t felt since the loss of a girl that was cruelly taken from him so many years ago. But most of all, Juliet is the story about a community that is always ready to accept your boundaries and limits, et still push you in ways you need and crave, even if you didn’t know it.Kailee Reese Samuels may not always write about happily ever afters, but that’s life, it’s not always rainbows and puppies, rather, lessons and fulfillment – which is exactly what she offers her readers. For that, and so much more, makes me a fan of her work.*ARC provided by Author in exchange for an honest review.Reviewed by Kathleen, The Small Girl from A small girl, her man and her books

Juliet is the first book I have read by Kailee Reese Samuels and I was drawn in by not only the blurb but by the fantastic cover. Its just so very different from 99% of covers that are on erotica books today and I fell in love with it instantly. This is the story of a woman named Iris who loses her husband and sets off to ‘find herself’ at Juliet Academy. She meets Sal, who at times I hated more than English peas, and delves into the world of BDSM. Now the blurb will tell you that the story is ‘graphic BDSM’ but I didn’t find a great deal too much disturbing about it. I thought it was pretty light from that point and well written.Juliet is a very LONG book, its not something that can be read in a few hours or even a day or two. It clocks in at just under 700 pages. And there is a whole lot going on. Many characters, lots of different runs in directions that may or may not end up somewhere. It is a very interesting story that will certainly grab and hold your attention even while being sporadic and slightly unhinged at times. The ending left something to be desired, for me at least, as it didnt really end. But I can see where the author is possibly setting us readers up for a sequel with Juliet. For readers of long, intricately woven stories I think they will certainly enjoy Juliet and the companion books that go along with it.

So I am having a hard time forming this review. First off this is my first Kailee Reese Samuels story so I had no idea what exactly I was getting into. This is a story of a young woman (Iris) finding the love of her life and after a very short time loosing him.Iris is given a box when her husband’s will is read. With this box she in bark’s on an adventure that will take her to a whole different world. That is the easy part to write, what happens at Juliet is a weird and messed up and well what probably happens all the time in places. So yes, I find some of the things that happen in this book messed up, but the core of the story is wonderfully told. The characters are complexed, wicked, and sexy. I couldn’t put the story down and this is not a story you can skim. You have to read every word.

  67. Amy Crull

This book is unlike any book I’ve read. it’s crazy long, crazy busy but it’s really good. There’s obviously a ton of sex in this, some of it pretty graphic especially one scene in particular. I did love Sal and Iris but I was just so mad that even though they loved each other, they couldn’t say faithful to save their lives. I also realize they were at a BDSM school and Sal had many mistresses. He was tossed around until himself wanted to be Dom. Iris is trying to figure out what and who she along with finding out her late husband’s secrets and boy is it crazy when she finds all of them out! The author has clearly done her homework on BDSM. She has some an excellent job on knowing what all goes into it. Like I said before, this book is long and had multiple characters all tied together and all have opinions.

  68. Jamie Guellar

Juliet is my first read by this author and it was a good read. It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but wow! Definitely not what I was expecting. It was a very hot and emotional read.Just let me say that when I started this book I thought it was a typical Student and Professor story, boy was I wrong! It was that’s and so much more. It was a very hot and very long read. After her husband dies Iris heads to Texas and discovers a whole new world that her husband was hiding.I loved the story, but kind of find it hard to write a review that includes the characters since there were so many. And it’s not a bad thing, the characters all fit perfectly into the story. We are left with a bit of a cliffy, just enough to make you excited to read the book.So if you like a hot BDSM book, then one click! Can’t wait to read the next book!

This is a new Author for me and found her through one of the group postings. Iris had gone through quite a bit trying to find herself through Juliet after finding out what the company was when Iris becomes a widow. There were more than a few really interesting areas in the book like between Sal and Iris. I was torn between three, and a half and four stars because in some areas I connected with Iris, and many of the other characters especially Sal, and in others, I couldn’t seem to. It could be that the story was extremely long, and I kept losing focus. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to another one of this Author’s stories.

This is one of those books that is so hard to review because there is so much going on. This is a big book, a long read and a lot of different characters and material so get ready for a ride. This is about a young widow named Iris Kettles and her wanting answers about her husband. Her journey takes her to Texas where she discovers Juliet and her need for answers but also finds herself intrigued by this kinky world and a sexy badboy named Sal Raniero. Their attaction is electic and as much as they try to fight it they are drawn to eachother which could also be deadly. Follow Sal & Iris on this unforgettable journey and their search for a HEA!

I have quotes that like to apply to my everyday life . Sometimes they seem arbitrary and sometimes profound , well this time round it captured “Juliet” perfectly .The sayings are :A) Never judge a book by its cover because you never know what story you might miss ( for people and books)B) Not all is at it seemsIris is a colorful and entertaining character that wasbinashamed to take you on her journey of self discovery .Sal is wicked , deliciously wicked and a real bad boy but man is he complex and intense !!!There are a few twists along the way and the ending is a bit of a cliffie for me . Having said that perhaps it’s the opportunity for another book or two ?!Review by Heidi

If you like your books to be on the longer side then this one’s for you it’s not a quick read that’s for sure. The story revolves around Iris and her discovery into the world of BDSM after her husband dies and she learns more of the world he kept hidden from her, she finds herself at Juliet acadmy with the hopes of meeting new people and learning more of who she really is and what her true desires are. Iris finds herself falling for Sal the leading male he’s a bit of a bad boy lovable rogue type, there are many other characters/P.O.V’s going on within this book and to be honest I found myself confused at times I struggled to keep up. According the the blurb this is classed as graphic BDSM but I wouldn’t say it was that bad, it’s an erotic read with a few twists and turns and a bit of mystery thrown in, on the whole it’s decent read.I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book through Quill and Ink Review Team.

  73. AutoBots

Starting point- I have not read a book this long in a good while. The blurb is what had me interested in reading this, that along with the alternate cover. The book starts off with Iris becoming a widow. After that it time jumps, that kind of confused me but I eventually got into the swing of the book. The book has a mention of being BDSM, but there isn’t really a show of it, and the scenes that do take place are very mild in terms of descriptions. This book held my interest-and with it being so long- that, in itself, says a lot. What you think will be the usual relationship between a teacher and his student and a blooming romance- doesn’t turn out that way, exactly. This was a different book, I don’t want to give away the plot but even when bits of this were confusing I still kept reading to find out wth was going on. I recommend this to anyone that likes a bit of bdsm with a strong intriguing story-line.

This was my first Kailee Reese Samuels book and I thoroughly enjoyed it although it is really long, be prepared for it to take a few days it took me 4. The story is well written, plot is different and there is heaps of sexy scenes, BDSM levels are moderate compared to some other books I have read lately. You are warned that this does end in a mild cliffhanger and you will be looking for book 2.The story follows Iris, recently widowed, and her journey of self discovery. On this path she uncovers many of her huisbands secrets, alot about her own desires and possibly love.Reviewed for Amo and Sarah’s Book Corner.I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

  75. Emily Dorsey

This book was unlike anything I have ever read. TBH I was hesitant at first because it’s different from what I’m use to but I’m so glad I decided to tackle this bad boy. Sal…oh beautifully broken Sal…at times I wanted to reach through the book and slap him but then I would turn the page and want to kiss the hell out of him. Iris had a lot thrown her way but I enjoyed the ride along with her. I also enjoyed meeting all the characters. This is a lengthy book but honestly I was too engrossed with the story to really notice. If you are looking for a great read that lives outside the box I recommend this one.

  76. Marie

If your looking for a book to follow the 50 shades series look no further. This story leads you into BDSM in a way that helps you understand why people do it whilst giving you a storyline to follow. The characters are enticing while you follow them on their journey. This review was given on behalf of Amo & Sarah’s book corner.

  77. Wendy Livingstone

Wow, just wow! This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and OMG, it will not be the last. This story starts with Iris and Chance who is the love of her life, and then dealing with his lose. While following clues left to her by Chance she finds herself in Sugargrove Texas, and straight to Sal. No spoilers from me though, this novel need to be read! This story is infuriating, frustrating, sexy, emotional, and with BDSM. Be warned the tissues are required, as well as wine and chocolate. I am in awe of this author’s talent, and the way in which the reader is drawn into this storyline. I was hooked and enthralled throughout. Absolutely cannot wait for the second book.

This book has a lot going on and i apologise to the author that review wont be a long one and doesn’t do your book any justice. If your like me tend to read erotic genre more than any other genre this book is for you. This is a breath fresh air i cant explain into words why it is but this book is definitely a worth read.

This book is brilliant. This book is dark. Riveting!

  80. Socially Awkward Book Nerd

lots of characters are introduced, I had no trouble keeping up. The s+x scences are a bit mild compared to some of the other B*SM books but that isn’t a problem. I recommend this book to someone just starting the fascination into the genre.

Iris takes you into a journey of discovery. From discoreving her husbands past to her discovering herself the story gets hotter by each page. Lots of characters involved and lots of emotions flowing.

This is my first book by Kailee Reese Samuels. It was a long one but it was worth the time to read. This story is about Iris. Iris’s husband passed away and she finds mysterious clues hidden by her husband so she decides to find out more about her husband. She’s led to a small town in Texas where Juliet Academy seems to lure her in. There she meets Salvatore Raniero a sexy alpha male in the BDSM world. I loved reading about Iris’s journey to discovering herself. The story takes you on an emotional roller coaster where Iris not only finds herself but she also discovers her husbands secrets. Kailee Reese Samuels writing is captivating. The story line is well crafted and the characters are well developed. I am looking forward to reading another book by this author.I was gifted this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.

When I first read Juliet it was the first book I ever read by Kailee Reese Samuels. And let’s just say I was blown away by this book & her writing style. It was freaking amazing! The story of Sal & Iris is one like no other. The way they come together is awesome. & Wow! Sal is HOT! (Well in my head he is!😍) There is a roller coaster of emotions in this book and you’ll love every twist of this ride. So take a chance & read it, I know you’ll love it. I did! 💙 I know you might be thinking I really didn’t tell you about this book. But, me as a reader I want to know about the feels you get from the book & How much you enjoyed it. Not telling me half the story in the review. So there’s no point in me reading it. Sorry but I hate spoilers & That’s what lots of reviews do. They spoil the story for me at least. So read it & love it! & With all the other characters in it you know there will be more to come.

  85. Nan3G

What can I say about this book? This one threw me for a loop. The twists and turns I never seen coming. Everyone has some kink in them if they admit it or not and this book is about Iris findibg where she is comfortable with hwrs. In the process she meets Sal, who is quickly becoming a favorite book boyfriend of mine. But Iris comes to find all of the lies that have shaped her life. Do not miss this book.

  86. Jessica Bruno

Boy what a ride this book has taken me on! Everything about this book kept my on my toes. At first I didn’t know what to think, but after a few chapters in it really got interesting, especially when Sal was introduced. Hott!! 🔥There were soo many times when I wanted to slap both Sal and Iris for making everything between them so complicated. Once I got towards the end of the book I finally understood why Iris couldn’t be with Sal, she had to make herself worthy of being his sub and that I understood. I was upset at first that Sal and Iris didn’t get their HEA but I’m okay with that, maybe some day they will.

  87. Kim Jones

I really love this book. It grabbed me from the beginning and keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. I went thru a lot of different emotions while reading this, Sal is one hot man and the ladies adore him! I suggest you read the other books before this one, they are all amazing! Make sure to have some tissues with this one, the ending gutted me. I can’t wait for more in this series, Kailee knows how to grab a reader and keep them wanting more!

  88. Shannon Youngblood

#OlderGuyYoungerGirl#GirlonGirl#SoMuchStorySoLittleTime#CoolestConceptI’ll admit, this book was lonnnnnnng. BUT it was JAMMMM packed with sex-y, prude-y, lesbian-y, BDSM-y goodness! I remember thinking towards the beginning, “Dang—I’m a fast reader and I still have 5 hours left??” But the hours FLEW by. Juliet was filled with scenarios and characters that everyone, from all walks of life could relate to. From the novice to the experienced, men, woman and everyone in between. The concept was rich and though provoking, and I gobbled it up (Took me just under 5 hours—-and like I said, I’m a quick reader) My hats off to Kailee on a great storyline!5 Stars!

  89. Jenny Culliver

Ms Samuels writes heart wrenching, mess with every emotion you have books, and this one is no exception. Juliet is a ‘what’ not a ‘who’and follows the story of characters we have grown to love.If you are expecting all hearts and flowers, then this books – or author- is not for you, but if you are wanting angsty and beautfully written, then pick up this book and every other one written by Kailee Reese Samuels!

Wow oh wow. Loved getting to know more about Iris. Her and Sal’s relationship is crazy. It’s fun watching Sal grow up, going from a male escort at 18 to now at 24 and not knowing what to do with his feelings for this girl.Iris is experiencing BDSM and is wanting to become the best sub for Sal. I will say, both Iris and Sal will be with other people while they try and figure out how they feel for each other. The initiation scene for Iris? Holy guacamole. That was intense and no way in hell could I have gone through what Iris did. Although Iris didn’t know what was going to happen, she consented to anything being done. Keep that in mind. It’s recommended to read this book before starting the TAT series so you get to know the characters and side characters before jumping into that intense series.

    One of my favorites!!
There are fabulous stories, and stories that will consume you. Juliet definitely is one of these all-consuming books. Welcome to Sugargrove, open the doors of the Juliet BDSM Academy and explore a world of fantasies through the eyes of Sal and Iris.I’ve been curious about this book since I started reading this author’s work, now I know it will remain at the top of my KRS shelf. The astounding realism of the characters’ psychological journey is truly and experience in itself. As Iris decided to take a chance at something different, forbidden and delicious after her husband passed, she showed a strength and a fight I absolutely loved. Sal’s scarred soul captivated me. He infuriated me and at the same time I cried with him and succumbed to his hypnotic charm. To watch him grow into a dominant and struggle with his emotions, dancing that intense, intimate, raw and heartwrenching tango with Iris touched me.That is an epic love story, the range of emotions immersed me in this intriguing world. From loneliness to sorrow, from love to hate, guilt, shame, lust, and vulnerabiltily, the emotional rollercoaster sent me reeling.Through a delicious atmosphere, a poetic style, Juliet is a story about characters finding themselves, and each other. This is a long book, a masterpiece composed by multiple works of art. Every party or scene is a piece, colorful and intense, vibrant with sensations and emotions, painting a sublime erotic visual. But beyond this journey, you’ll also discover, in true Kailee Reese Samuel’s fashion, that everything runs deeper than you thought. This book is brilliant, let yourself be caught up in its whirlwind, you wont regret it!

    Roller coaster rush….
Remember that feeling you get when the roller coaster ride stops?. Your hands are sweaty, your heart is beating out of your chest, your breathing fast. Remember ?. That’s what a Kailee Reese Samuels book is like. The story of Iris, just wow, swimming through the pool of life, trying not to drown, Then there is Sal, well hello hottie, chemistry lesson, Sal+Iris= explosion. Add in the Juliet school and people like Kate, Meirne, Jack, oh the list goes on. I’m not spoiling the story I’m just saying READ THE BOOK. If you can handle it.

    Good read
There’s, alot going on in this book, sometimes a little to much, very dark and not for the faint hearted, even though I got a little l t it all works out and comes together in the end, it could be because there is so many characters. But I enjoyed it.

Sorry I just couldn’t finish it. Aside from the 1st chapter (which didn’t make sense & should have been a prologue *I think*) it was heading in a good direction if a little confusing. However it soon became evident confusing was the theme. There was no completion or explanation of any situation or event the author was writting about. One minuter her friends came to visit and while they were visiting she left for a drive and never went back and they haven’t been mentioned since. No development or bond has been built between Iris and Sal. They shared a handful of words before the NOLA incident where he mentioned his # was the only one in her phone…wait a minute…when between their 1st meeting (where he insulted her) and this conversation in NOLA did the exchange phone #’s??? Must have been accidentally removed during editing 😉. Lastly the book needed some serious editing😉, grammer was very bad and she needs to use the thesaurus a little bit less…sometimes less is more…except when sections explaining things are removed, those are actually needed.
