“I breathe through to the end because my soul refuses to let me die.”What happens when the crazy misfit girl and the star QB fall for each other? One horrible moment, one tragic incident beyond your control can change your life forever.“He is a dream; I am the nightmare. It was never his fault.”A&E is a beautiful, heart wrenching story that I was not prepared for. Due to personal reasons I could really relate and connect to one of the main characters. I felt every ounce of their pain and turmoil. This book deals a lot with mental illness and not just a simple bout of depression. This is not an easy subject to write about but Kailee Reese Samuels once again pulled it off flawlessly.“I fight every f…..g day to just breathe. It is an exhausting battle and a war I will lose eventually.”I can’t say much more without spoiling it so I’ll just say that Alex Torino and Indigo Swann have a rocky and intense history. We get to experience the love and sorrow that they have felt throughout the years. Their connection is not something that can be easily broken. Both are damaged but have the biggest hearts and are strong in their own way. You will have tears in your eyes and a smile on your face while reading their story. I loved every heartbreaking second of this book. If you are looking for a well written emotionally intense book I absolutely recommend A&E.“I need you—all of your good, all of your bad, all of your crazy. I need your darkness to balance all the blinding light.”~ Read on behalf of Two Darlin Dolls and a Book Review Blog

Indigo (Bleu) grew up in a commune where the children were used in adult films. Her parents would commit her in psychiatric hospitals to keep her safe from the films. Indie’s Mom and Aunt suffered from mental illness as did Indie. Indie suffered from Major depression, bipolar disorder and psychotic disorder. After Indie’s parents were murdered, she went to live with her Aunt Sadie who was a real estate agent. Sadie managed to keep the bills paid but due to her illness she didn’t provide food consistently.Alex was a high school football star who recruiters moved his family where he would have the best opportunity. Alex and Indie met at the high school. Alex recognized Indie’s demons because his sister had similar demons and had committed suicide. This story follows the lives of Alex, Indie and their friends through high school, college and on there careers. It shows the effects of mental illness, how love drives people and how we can overcome obstacles. This story was very relatable, gives us a better understanding of mental illness and is filled with love and heartache. I loved this story. It made me laugh and it also made me cry my eyes out but I can’t wait to read what comes next from this author!

I’m not sure I read the same book as everyone else. There’s so much love out there for this book. I just didn’t connect to the characters….at…all. The way they thought and talked while in High School didn’t sound like any Seniors in High School I have ever met. What I did love was that this Author tried to write about a very sensitive subject matter. This reminded me so much of Therapy by Kathryn Perez, which I absolutely LOVED! This one just wasn’t for me.

What do you say about a book that shatters you, yet give you hope? Breathtakingly ugly and beautiful! KRS brings us the story of Indy (Bleu) and Aex that spans years, first meeting in high school, one the star quarter back, one the misfit, one an addict, one dealing with severe mental issues. Indy suffered traumatically growing up and now is dealing with demons in silence, but how does she deal with it and at what cost to herself? Alex the kid from the trailer park with the Golden arm is king of school; with girls, popularity, and everything seemingly coming easy; but what price to his body? Thru a mutual friend they meet and let me tell you, you can feel the attraction and connection, even if Indy is scared to have those feelings. Alex knows something is off with her and guess what, he ain’t going anywhere, he wants to help her, be a part of her life and even tells her they can start as friends. The going on in Indy’s mind will have you in tears, you feel for her and may even recognize your own demons in her. Just when Alex thinks he has it all figured out and how Indy and him can leave and go to college and be together, something horrible happens, which ends up separating them. Lets just say I didn’t think Indy would survive the outcome. There are characters you love and will hate, but I’ll let you find this out for yourself. Alex grown up will melt your heart, he loves his Bleu (Indy) and is willing to do whatever it takes to save her, to make her realize she deserves to be happy, to be loved. And I understand her fear of destroying her light (him) and the things she does. This book does not sugar coat mental illness and the shapes it comes in, but rather gives us a harsh and heartbreaking look into reality, but also that light of hope and what love and support can help heal. If you have your demons, know that it’s alright, you matter, you count in this world!!

I went in blind with this book, one of my besties was reading it and she was loving it so it was a no brainer to read it too even though it’s was a new author for both of us. And let me tell ya! I’m soooooooo glad I took a chance and read this book.I’m not gonna lie the subject matter is tough to read and at times difficult to swallow.Indigo is one of the most lost and sad characters I’ve ever read, in the beginning I thought ‘ok she’s a bit depressed’ but nope Indi has a in fact been to hell and back far too many times to count. No one really ever looked after her or loved her like she needed. Her childhood was unbelievably crazy! Her future bleak until she meets Alex. Now Alex is utterly amazing, he’s hot, fun, talented and all he wants is his Bleu (Indigo) he’s determined to have her and not just for one night but boy oh boy does she fight him on even being friends but even she can’t deny the spark between them.A lot happens between these two, so much evil and so much hurt but also so much love and healing. This book is not for the faint hearted and fair warning go in blind and enjoy he ride!!!

This is a beautiful emotional story that really captivated me from the first page. It’s a beautifully written story with well developed and believable characters that pull at your heartstrings. KRS did an incredible job with such a difficult topic and she really knows how to write with heart and soul. I enjoyed reading Indigo and Alex’s story and the journey they go on growing up. I highly recommend this book and this author to everyone looking for great books to read.

This is my first book by Kailee Reese Samuels but won’t be my last.I was not emotionally prepared for this book. The story is so raw, so powerful that you feel it to your core. Love is the champion and can help overcome so much. You have to want it. Alex and Indigo have a connection, a bond. They are drawn together. Their friendship continues thru school and into adulthood. Always there for each other when the going get’s tough.Like I said, I cried, I smiled, I supported them and hoped for the best. I was not ready for this book to end. I wanted more.

  8. Megan Alexis

Mental Health is by far one of the HARDEST topics to talk about. KRS tackles the subject like a boss. She doesn’t make light of a serious topic, she gives us a voice. Bleu is not over written or under, at times she is the voice inside your head wanting to be enough, to be loved, to be real… but falling just short. The love the pain the betrayal. This story flows beautifully and I can’t begin to say how much this book broke my heart. It was so much more than depressed girl meets handsome man and she lives happily ever after. It was real, raw, with struggle and torment but with a backbone of unyielding love that made the fight just a tad easier. Far different from the other books I’ve read by KRS, though no less amazing!

  9. Savannah

Another KRS book knocked out of the park. This one was talked heavy on mental illness and self harm so please be aware of that before taking this books on.I absolutely loved how KRS approached this book. She didn’t sugar coat it. It wasn’t like the character has something going on and then it’s all of a sudden an easy fix somehow and then everything is all just fine and dandy. No. This felt very realistic and I absolutely loved Alex and Bleu’s story.

  10. starorchids

Absolutely amazing! The depth of this book is unreal. As you take the journey with Bleu, you are becoming part of her in this book; feeling every moment with her, every smile, every tear, every moment of anguish and pain. Just like all books by this Author, you’re taken on a part that has many layers, many roads (some paved, some bumpy as can be with holes surprising you) and wondering how you will make it to the end. Keep the faith, stay just one more day, love Bleu.

  11. The Eclectic Shopper

This book touched me. It reached right into my chest, squeezed my heart, and played rhythmic drums with my blood pressure. It made me laugh, cry, hysterically cry… This is by far the most relatable story I have read by Kailee Reese Samuels, and I am telling everyone about it, even a complete stranger that I talked with while calling customer service. TRUTH-I swear! Props to you, Ms. Samuels. Heavy issues are difficult to approach, and you did so with grace and full-on throttle at the same time.

  12. Sara Callaway

This is a my all time favorite book by this author. Bleu is just trying to survive and Alex just wants to love her. This is a book that sheds light on mental illness, it shows the ugly side as well as what life that be like with the right people in your corner.

  13. Scott Ryan

Damn. I say, Damn! Did not expect a number of revelations in this; I also knew someone with some of Indigo’s issues, and they ring really true. My opinions of Elliot changed quite a bit through the book; Alex less so-he certainly is tenacious! Indi sometimes annoying but understandable. And Mama to the rescue! There could be ‘triggers’ depending on one’s psyche. But very satisfying.

  14. Jennifer Richey

Wow this book was about high school sweethearts Bleu & Alex the struggles and trials they went thru and they even lost their way but even true love finds its way back. Twists and turns in this book.

  15. Alexis

I fell in love with Bleu and her journey in this amazing book! Kailee embraced what most authors choose to ignore, mental illnesses, and embraced it beautifully. This is a book that make you feel and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time!!!

  16. t faucette

She pulls you in from the start. A glimpse into the realities of dealing with a mental illness from both sides. The Story of Bleu and Alex will have you in tears and still let you laugh. Intense and Beautifully written. A must read!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was so beautifully well written. The author shows us the struggle of mental health and how both characters deal with it. It’s very well written and a definite must read!

A beautiful tale of real love and sacrifice. Sometimes a story will take me on a journey that opens my eyes and warms my heart and this was one of those books. Bravo Ms. Samuels on an amazing read.

I read this book through kindle unlimited and I have to say I am genuinely flummoxed by all the good reviews. I found this book an all around mess that was not satisfying AT ALL! In fact just the opposite happened – it frustrated the heck out of me. Where to start with my criticism. To name a few things that bugged the heck out of me was all the other women and all the other men drama in their lives. I mean the guy walks away from the heroine and at first we are told that she pushed him away but I didn’t see that. I saw a guy too caught up in football to be bothered to find out what is happening with his girlfriend. They never broke up. She was institutionalized against her will for 18 months and he never visits? He just drops out her life? What the heck. She did nothing wrong. He went off to college and she was supposed go with him but gets institutionalized and can’t go with him and he’s just like, oh well? Even after she gets out he doesn’t make himself available to be there for her but wait we are told later on the hero did this for the heroine because you know he needed to go pro so he stayed away so he can afford to take care of her but he needed to go pro. I’m sorry he went pro 4 years after abandoning her so where was his vaunted reasoning for the following six years of being away from her? This doesn’t even make sense. I mean the author nominally pays lips service to the fact that he “checked up on her“ through the ten years. Seriously? It was so convoluted and half a**. And don’t even get me started on the other woman the hero jumps out of his surgical recovery bed to be with at the 85% mark and he doesn’t care then that he is putting his precious football career on the line by getting out of bed and jeopardizing his recovery. WHAT THE HECK? I was seriously pissed thinking I read this whole book and he is not even going to land up with the heroine. We are told he refers to this other woman as his girlfriend, has an amazing connection with her, shares an intense kiss with her and imagines what it would be like to be with her but she just poofs out of the picture. Where did she go? Why exactly if she wasn’t important was she even introduced so late in the book other than to confuse the reader and make the hero look like a dirtbag who would prey on women and mislead this other woman into thinking there was something there. THIS OTHER WOMAN JUST DISAPPEARS. The hero made this big to do about this connection so I am mystified where the author was going with this late entry. But then she disappears without any explanation and the hero is back to being in love with the heroine. And the heroine is no paragon either. She has sex with virtually anyone since the hero abandoned her in senior year and left her in the institution. But the worst thing is she sleeps with her would be rapist/murderer for years and we are told she remembers some of those things so I’m not exactly sure why she did this other than the fact that she was abandoned by the “ hero” and has a zillion mental issues. I have read books where one or both of the main characters are “broken” and are in need of therapy. But almost every single person in this book has mental issues of addiction, severe chemical imbalance or environmental things in their past that scar them but I don’t believe ANYof them were handled well. It’s like with a sentence or two the author just changes her mind and says they were cured but doesn’t show any of the hard work behind the change. Honestly this book was a mess and the characters and plotting are all over the place. It is like the author had ADD and simply forgot to follow her own plot lines and instead developed totally contradictory ideas at times but she left all these hanging issues because she went squirreling off in another direction. And this is just a pet peeve of mine but how heroic is the hero if he left the heroine hanging for ten years anyway regardless of the squirreling plot development of the other woman at 85% that he shared a “connection” with and almost screwed up his football career for. So I can’t recommend this book. It wasn’t romantic at all and it frustrated me to no end.

Indigo “Bleu” is out with her best friend Elliot “El” at a club, she is not your regular girl, Indigo is also a tattoo artist. In the club she bumps into her ex who later turns up at her door they end up having an amazing night of sex & Alex asks her to go with him to Hawaii. After some soul searching she agrees 21 days to see if they can make ago of it.Rewind to their school days, before they got together Indigo feels like an outcast she has no friends until Oliva who is determined to bring Indigo out of her shell, Olivia is also Alex’s best friend. Alex thinks that he has the world at his feet, though he is addicted to prescription painkillers and has random sexual encounters with any of the willing girls lining up to get a piece of him. Indigo does not want anything to do with Alex despite finding him very attractive. Indigo had alot of issues going in inside herself I don’t wish to expand on this as I feel it needs to be read. The relationship between the two of them is a slow burner as she does not trust people, though when they come together it is beautiful. Though their lives are tingued with sadness that no teenager should have to deal with. They struggle, they lose each other and find each other. I really don’t wish to give too much away but I loved this book so much I read it within two days it was one of those that made me want to get to the end as I needed to know what happened. Kailee has tackled the issues within the book very well and with just enough sensitivity and humour all I can say it simply amazing highly recommended read

This was unlike any other book I have read. It touches on a subject that very few authors let alone Romance authors touch on. It was refreshing and shed light on so many things. While reading it I shed plenty of tears so make sure to have those tissues ready.

Wow a diffrent kind of love story one who fights for another and another fights her demons of past and present mental issues that only she could deal with when you learn love is true medicine you can learn to love thyself!

Remember when as adults we keep saying that ‘I wish i could go back to high school and teen years’? yes? No? Maybe it’s just me then. I can still hear myself preaching on how teens need to embrace these years because it only gets more difficult as adulthood comes around and responsibilities become more and more important. Then i read Kailee Reese Samuel’s latest, A&E. I remember. How lonely you can feel amongst a crowd. How scary growing up felt. How emotions tear you apart when you least expect it. How one single person can make you question just about everything about yourself. God, how do i remember. It’s really hard not to when you’re reading this book.Kailee Reese Samuel’s way of bringing her stories still feel as poetic as ever, drawing you in when you least expect it, but they feel so real. So truthfully real. I assure you, this book is everything from this author but nothing like she’s ever published in the past. It was emotional. Awe inspiring. And gut wrenching in ways no one could ever imagine – least of all myself.*ARC provided by Author in exchange for an honest review. KRS has done it again! This book is a amazing story of how LOVE conquers all… The story of Indigo (Bleu) Swann & Alex Torino was phenomenal. I really liked how this book was done. How it started off in the present then went back to where their story truly began in high school. To fill you in on everything you needed to know. Then came back to the present. Not like some books that only give you flashes of the past. This was extremely well written. And with the emotional roller coaster you’ll be on while you read this,it truly is a awesome ride. This book also shows you how mental illnesses effects some. But no one really wants to look at. & How the love of friends and family can get you through the darkest of times.I know I really haven’t told you much about this book except for the feels of it all. But I hate spoilers. I just want to know how it will make you feel & If it’s worth my time or not. This book is most definitely that! You will be sucked in & the pages will keep turning a mile a minute. There is so much going on in this book you won’t be able to put it down.. So read it & love it as much as I did! You won’t regret it 😉

This is one of the best books Ms. Samuels has written to date. It’s removed from her other “Juliet” works and is a stand alone. It’s a story of a young woman that’s experienced unspeakable loss. She also carries around many demons both of her past and in her mind. It’s also a story about a young man who on the surface looks to be the king of the school, but he’s really just as damaged as she is. They find themselves in being together, but tragic circumstances keep them apart. Can they make it back to each other and be whole in the end together? This book is about mental illness. I really liked that Ms. Samuels got so in depth with this subject as everyone has experienced it in some way in their lives. We get to look into Bleu’s head and see what it’s really like first hand. I really could see the love between her and Alex was real and why Alex loved her so much and why he fought for her.The only question I was left with, was why was Bleu best friends with Elliot at the beginning of the book? It didn’t make sense once we learn more about their history. Besides that, it was a fantastic read and great ending.I received an arc from the author

I am not surprised that this particular author did it again! A&E is a beautiful story about life. The dark and the light sides of life. And what life throws your way, and what you do about it. Do you quit and lay down, or do you stand up and fight for what is yours?“-I need you—all of your good, all of your bad, all of your crazy. I need your darkness to balance all the blinding light.”It’s bold to write about mental illness, and it’s such a important topic. I have noticed that this author isn’t afraid of writing about the bad part of life. I love her writing, and she has written this story so beautifully. Teaching us that you aren’t weak by being different, by crying your tears instead of saying your words. Or by having a illness of different varieties, or opening your heart and let others help you. No, you are strong! “You are worth it. You count. You matter.””I know – smile and put your face on – it makes it all better. I’ve heard them all, but what no one seems understand is my depression isn’t mild or in my control any more than a heart patient having a stroke or a cancer patient finding a lump.”I loved this book, I highly recommend reading A&E!!

Reviewed on behalf of Amo’s book corner.Oh my gosh nothing can prepare you for this book. It’s amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. Mental health is hard to write about but Kailee just writes about it so you cannot help but feel for Indigo and what she goes through in this book.Indigo and Alex are friends from school she is an outcast and a newbie to the school and he is the popular football player. So when they meet through his friend Olivia they become a little group of close friends. These folks all have their troubles and all come from horrible backgrounds mostly Indigo and Alex.So when they reconnect 10 years after leaving school they both realize how much they love each other but and there is a big but and that’s Indigo’s mental illness. It’s so shocking to know how many people suffer these days and never tell any one of their fight to just stay alive, and you really feel for Indigo and what she goes through in her past and now. So much happens in this book but it’s not crammed so much that you loose interest but there is so much to the story it makes you want to see what happens to these characters. It’s a beautifully written story and by far my favourite of Kailee’s but then I say that after every book I’ve read. I cannot wait to read what’s next.

When I started reading this book, I thought, not my usual read. The more I read, the more I knew that! But I continued to read, as it was so well written and was spot on with depression, obsession and intrigue. One girl, one boy, both have issues that can’t be cured without each other. The ups and downs were a given, but how they were handled, a different story. Lies, deceit, mental issues is just a part of this story. The sickness in some people are evil, the sickness in other are mental. And they have every reason for this. I’m not a spoiler, so just going to say, you need to read this. It was a well written, original story of love, hope and things not handled well for people. It will pull at your heart strings, and there is so much to educate your own self, that you really don’t see your own issues the same way. I loved reading this book, I loved the rollercoaster of emotions, and yes there are some hot scenes thrown in. But this is true love at its best. Recommend highly for a great read and hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Kailee Reese Samuels did a great job on this story. A&E was well written and had a great story plot. The story was filled with emotions. I couldn’t put this book down. It was an emotional read. Alex and Indigo were great strong characters. Indigo has been so much. Alex is the best thing that has happened to her. Alex and Indigo were perfect together. They shared a strong connection. I enjoyed this book. It’s a great story. I suggest reading. Thank you, Kailee Reese Samuels. Great work 🙂

A bit of a book hangover. Stay with me.What a beautiful story. Let me tell you, this is a very roller-coaster read. You will feel every emotion know to us. Push it off on to someone else, to handle.Indigo and Alex are like any young American kiddos trying to figure out life in general. As high school will force us to do in so many ways the struggles of others. Life on the wrong side of the tracks is always fun. Not. But mix that with the other issues that are beyond and out of our contol. You have found it Growing up with Olivia, Indigo, Alex and Elliot. Get this book, read it an feel with power of love n hate. Good and the evil. The struggles are real and life is what we make it. Unless you’ve dealt with someone with a mental illness you do not have a clue what that entails. I have to say, I loved this book. It was heartbreaking what lengths Indigo went through to deal with her demons. There were a few surprise revelations that left me wanting to kill a certain character. I can’t say much without giving it away. Alex was a pleasant surprise. He was driven, gentle and caring. Determined to get the woman he loved even if it was just one day. He feels they are each half of a whole. He worked hard to get his golden arm to get him in a place to be able to take care of her. It’s difficult to try to keep someone alive when all they want to do is die. But I don’t think Indigo Bleu really wanted to die, she just didn’t know how to live. Her demons and things that happened in the past kept her in a dark place. She will never be “normal ” but who is.

I just wish that I could give this book more stars! This is a beautiful disaster filled with tears and love. while reading this book I cried, I laughed, and I didn’t want it to end. My heart was ripped out, torn apart and stitched back together while reading this book. I honestly don’t know how to express in words how amazing this book truly is. Indigo was just a beautiful character. She has so many different levels to her and even at her weakest is such a strong person. This book brought light to something that is typically taboo but the way Kailee Reese Samuels was able to make you feel like you were the one feeling what was happening. Like if every swipe of the razor was on your skin just shows her skills as an author. When it came to Alex or Tori as his football fans knew him. The love he has for Indigo is undeniable. He is willing to love her demons and her crazy and not just her. He sees her not as something to fix but someone to love forever and deal with the problems together. #Juststayonemoreday

In high school, Alex meets a girl named Indigo, nicknamed Beau. She’s beautiful and wounded, and he’s fallen for her hard. But she carries a lot of hurt, she’s self proclaimed crazy and know’s she’s damaged, so she puts him off for a long time. When they do finally get together, it’s near perfect, until their world implodes. She’s sent away and he has to carry on with his life.He never stopped thinking of her, loving her, and as the years pass, he tries desperately to find his way back to her. He doesn’t care that she’s wounded, he just wants to love her and protect her; as Samuels so beautifully writes it “I am the life raft in her drowning seas.”But it’s been a long time and Beau has been through a lot, she might not let him in.I strongly admire the fact that Samuels brought mental illness to the forefront and turned it into a heartbreakingly beautiful and encouraging novel.

Indigo has been brought up in a commune, where all of the children are used as stars for a porno film. In order to keep her safe her parents had her committed to a psychiatric hospital. Alex is the high school football star, and that is where he meets Indigo, and he immediately recognises the demons she carries. This is a beautifully written story, which deals with the dark as well as the lighter side of life. Hats off to this author in the way she has dealt with subjects which are not easy to deal with; i.e. bio-polar, depression, and mental illness in general. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers, and I cannot wait to read more from her. Amazing Kailee!

I have to say this was my first book that I read that brought mental illness to light in their character . With that being said you have bleu ( indigo ) having a bam moment when she run into a old flame from high school and that sends her back *10 years high school days* we get to know what happens between bleu and AlexThen back to present we’ll we find out there’s more to the story then what you see… to read about what bleu lives through lives with and what she has seen and carried was heart breaking … to watch bleu and Alex at the end made me tear up to watch them both fight bleu with herself and Alex for her…..I don’t like saying to much about the story as it’s better for you to read and experience the emotional and crazy ride that these two go on .great emotional read !!

What can I say about Kailee Samuels that hasn’t already been said? Her writing is just beyond anything you can read by most other authors. She brings out such emotions when you read her stories that sometimes it is hard to read her books. You almost have to physic yourself up to read her books. You know you’re going to cry, get upset, get horny, laugh, and at the end have your happy ending (you hope with every character). This story takes on some issues that might be hard for some to read. I thought Kailee did an excellent job of combatting depression and such in this book. I loved this story and would reread it again.I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

I don’t even know where to start with this book. It is simply put, amazing. I had no idea what to expect when I started reading. And then I was quickly sucked in and couldn’t stop reading until it was over. This book bring so much truth and awareness to the darker sides of depression while still giving you hope for an outcome worth waiting for. Depression is not something to avoid discussing or ignore. It is something you have to fight every day. But if you do fight it…. It may just be all ok in the end. Also, The names is this book are amazing. I felt connected to characters from the minute I learned their names. LOVE.

This book is amazing! It left me speechless and my heart full of emotions. Alex is one of the most caring characters I have read to date, he carries a lot on his shoulders to deal with Indingo’s mental illiness. I felt for her throughout this book. Her character is amazing. Then there is Elliot who just turns their world upside down. This is a different kind of read from what I am used to from Kailee but I loved it! She can write about anything and it grabs you in and doesn’t let go. I am a huge fan and would recommend everything she writes! Another great one Kailee!!

Oh, words cannot describe how much I loved this book. Seriously, this review won’t come close to doing it justice. The characters, every one of them, were so real and honest and terrifyingly dark. I loved the mystery and the love and the beautiful way the author dealt with so many tough subjects. Tori and Bleu’s love story, and ultimately their life story, is far from typical but that makes it so amazing. I can’t say enough good things about this book…the authors writing flows so well. I couldn’t put it down. Five well deserved stars from me! Well done! I will SO be reading more!

What to say about this book! First off, I just love the name Indigo Violent and the connection that she and Alex have. Their love and devotion toward each other was so strong that you couldn’t help yourself to be emotionally invested in their story. Indido’s strength that she posses to continue the struggle that she faces with her past and mental illness is so in powering and real. I love how this author talks about the dark side of mental illnesses and that you can fight back and not let the demons survive. I highly recommend this book to anyone that needs to feel the feels and a epic second-chance love story.

  43. Paula DeBoer

To sum it up this book is about mental illness. What people go through on a daily bases. Plus how mental illness effects everyone in there lives. This story real hit home with me because I was the person that had a family member with mental illness and kept to myself about my feelings. I truly loved each character in this book and it’s one I’ll never forget. Have kleenex ready for you it’s one tearjerker book! 5/5 stars *** I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book ***

A&EIt was refreshing to meet some new characters from Kailee. Don’t get me wrong I have fallen in love with her other characters but these ones just seem so much more real. I didn’t want to like Alex at first but seeing the way he cares you didn’t just see it, you felt it. The book flowed well and I liked the fact we didn’t just have flashbacks of the time they had before but actually get to go through it with them. There are some rough topics but I think they were written well and it’s nice to see a book that isn’t all sugar and spice. Everyone is touched by mental illness in one way or another and it’s good to see someone wrote about it. If you are looking for a read that takes you outside the box this is it.

It was a very beautiful and touching story! I loved Samuels’ characters in all their flaws! They work so hard to overcome a lot of things and they are struggling throughout, but in the end they have made something of themselves. I loved the touching moments and think it’s wonderful how mental illness was portrayed in here. It’s sometjkng different and important.I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

Wow just heartbreaking! I dont know how Kailee does it but she gives us this world, these people and pulls every emotion out of you and then boom scrambles your brain! This is one of those stories…Olivia & Alex❤. It is about a young love that never dies no matter how hard one tries and all the emotions and heartbreak that goes along the way. A true love and the complete fight for the everlasting….just amazing! If you have never read this author then you are truly missing out. This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend you start from the beginning with Sal and enjoy this amazing ride!

What a wonderful book! Kailee Reese Samuels has written a story about a very serious subject, so beautifully ❤️To have so many personal struggles and demons, it’s hard to imagine but the writer gives us a glimpse of those struggles and makes them real! What happens when a guy seems to have it all but really is riddled with turmoil? Can the two lead characters be the strength the other needs?I loved the realness of this story! Sooooo many emotions and feels…so much love!Highly recommend this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read…

I’m still kind of at a loss for words, so bare with me….This beautifully written story is so raw and real. Some people are scared to talk about mental illness, self harm and what the pressures from the real world can do to us, but this author did not shy away and she did an exceptional job telling people about how it can be. She wrote the truth about how we can overcome our demons and how love really can help heal us. Indigo and Alex’s story will be in my list of favorites and forever be in my heart. Bravo! An amazing five-star read!Xoxo

So I have developed an absolute love affair with the way that Kailee brings a story to life. Bleu’s story was insane. Intense. Thrilling. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the relationship between her and Alex. However, the accurate representation and descriptions of a person battling mental illness is just amazing. Loved it!

What a book! And experience because it is so very intense. Well written, heart felt and, at times, heartbreaking, containing elements of mystery and mayhem, this book picked me up from page one and would not let go. I have highlighted and marked pages throughout and had to stop to think at times because these characters had so much to say!I adore Alex Torino and felt so much for this beautiful, broken, brave girl he loved so completely. Bleu is a an enigma from the outside and a whirlwind of torment on the inside. Such a great cast of characters, though I would have liked more background about Elliot. Intrigue upon intrigue. No spoilers here, just admiration for a stunningly good book which blindsided me in the best possible way. The two handed narration is perfect, just don’t miss out!

A & E by Kailee Reece Samuels is in my humble opinion a must read. I fell head over heals in love with Alexander (Tori), Indigo (Indy and Olivia (Liv). These are all people you would be honoured to call friends. The love story is epic, and I found myself cheering from the sidelines for a happily ever after. Alex is a future pro footballer when Indigo catches his eye. Indigo is a troubled girl when she meets and tries not to fall in love with Alex. I will not give the story away, you need to buy and read this book yourself. It is so worth it. I even cried, and I don’t cry over books. It’s that good. Do yourself a solid, buy, take some time for yourself and read Kailee’s words. They are the bomb. Thank you Kailee, very much.

Mental Health(Illness) is by far one of the HARDEST topics to talk/write about, but Kailee Reese Samuels(KRS) handles it like a pro. This story follows the lives of Alex Torino, Indigo(Bleu) Swann and their friends through high school, college and on their careers. It shows the effects of mental illness, on how love drives people and on how we can overcome obstacles. This story was very relate-able in which it gives us a better understanding of mental illness and is filled with love and heartache. I loved this story from start to finish. It made me laugh, but it also made me cry my eyes out and I can not wait to read what comes next from this author! I highly recommend people to read A&E!!*ARC provided by Author in exchange for an honest review.

Where do I begin with this book? I am an emotional mess. This book ensnared me from the beginning and enthralled me to the end. The way this writer wrote this story just blows me away. It is so beautifully written, and so respectful. The depth of emotions from these characters was so strong, so believable. It tells the story of Indigo and Alex and how their relationship spans over time. Indigo is the troubled girl and Alex is the guy every girl wants. Their chemistry is unreal and I loved all their interactions. At times I laughed and at times I cried. This book is true writing genius and everyone should read it. Absolutely amazing.

I give Kailee Reese Samuels a five star rating. This book takes you on a bipolar journey and keeps you enthralled. No one could write theese characters better than Kailee. The journey and destruction that theese characters create makes you relate to the mental illness in a whole new light. Kailee has captured bipolar psychosis and no way anybody could ever have begun to describe. Bravo wonderful book to read I must one click read for anybody. Kailee you once again blew my mind can’t wait to read more from you. The emotional roller coaster between the two characters and the dynamic that Kailee creates in her books will keep you guessing and enthralled and keep you wanting more. Kailee is one author but I will never hesitate to one click. Do yourself a favor and read A & E.

Wow totally blown away!! This was a beautifully written story of a very broken young lady trying to navigate her way through life, love and a severe hereditary mental illness… Indi (Bleu) is drawn to Alex the star quarterback in high school, outwardly it seems like he has it all… but the boy with the golden arm is from the wrong side of the tracks and he hides his demons well. This book will grab you by the heart and squeeze, it is so emotionally charged and respectfully written the author Kailee takes you on a wild ride that spans over 10 years. My first read from this author but it definitely won’t be the last… do not miss out on the beauty that is A&E.

  56. Kristina Simkins

Have you ever been so lost in your thought you didn’t think there was a way out? A battle not worth fighting, because you will continue to lose?Indigo (Bleu) lives her day to day life with this problem. Battling yourself is always harder then battling someone else.A & E makes you think back on your life in several different way. The different cliques in high school. We’re the quiet ones quit because they wanted or was it their only choice. But, it also shows you how if someone has something or someone worth fighting for, then you can always win!She how Indigo beats the “fate” she thought was destined to her by reading A & E for yourself today.

  57. Christine

I wish I could give this book 100 stars! It is a real honest ugly look at mental illness and the struggle to cope and live. I mean really live, not just exist. The love these two share is enviable and beautiful, even through the ugly. So many emotions came over me while reading this story. I just am in awe of the way this author portrayed the journey of one woman. I’m voluntarily reviewing a free copy of this book.

This book has it all. It’s full of apprehension and hope. The topic of mental illness portrayed from a different perspective kept me turning page after page. Can love win out in the end. Buy this book you will love it.

This book is a definite must read!!! It brings you to the point of crushing you, only to leave you hoping for the future. I literally laughed, cried, did a little swearing and almost hurdled my Kindle across the room. This book is full of love and hurt, devastation, mystery and even a little bit of murder and intrigue. The writer did a magnificent job of putting a spotlight on mental illness in a classy way that will have you feeling for the Bleu as though you are living it yourself. Alex and Bleu are two wonderfully written characters that will keep you locked in to their story from beginning until the end.

  60. 75_SweetestBook

  61. Katie Kearney

This book was beyond mind blowing. It’s beautifully written and brings you to your knees with every single emotion you feel for these incredible characters. I’m a huge fan of this story because it’s different and it talks about the things people like to ignore. But this author does it so freaking well it’s way beyond amazing. If you’re looking for a book to crawl inside and never want to leave but also leaves you feeling so many emotions and gives you the best kind of book hangover you could ever have read this book right now! It’s my first book of 2018 that I honestly wish I could give way more than five stars on!

  62. Angela Thomas

  63. Nan3G

Holy bejesus what a emotional roller coaster this book is. The emotions that went through me were many. My husband thought I was crazy because I was talking to the book saying no you can’t do this to Alex or Bleu. This was my first book by this author but it will not be my last. The hard topic mixed with the humor and heartbreak makes for a great read. Highly recommend.

  64. Jaime Reynolds

I’m speechless!! It was such an intense and emotional story. Mental illness is such a tough topic to deal with and to show the affects from two sides is incredible. My emotions were all over the place and I fell in love with Alex and Bleu. This was well written and so relatable to someone who has suffered or been around this illness. Loved this book and I cannot wait to read more. If you have not already read it what are you waiting for??!! It is a must read.

  65. Sarah DeLong

I was thoroughly immersed in to the story of Indigo Violet (Bleu) and Alex. A deeply emotional read that at times was very depressing but yet had many facets of hope, Joy and happiness. Mental illness isn’t something that is written or talked about and I believe the author did a remarkable job on penning this novel. I highly recommend this amazing book and to have plenty of Kleenex nearby.

  66. SG Anderson
