Let me say at the outset of this review that I am a fan girl of Kailee Reese Samuels and have been for a while now. I was introduced to her books through my love for the sigh-worthy hero named Sal Reniero from the Tomb of Ashen Tears series (TAT books), and I’ve been hooked ever since. Please know that I’m an avid reader (have been for years now), and I don’t impress easily. So, take me seriously when I tell you that Ms. Samuels writes really well-written, engaging, interesting and unique books. This newest addition to her work ranks high in this regard. This is the story of Jynx and Echo, two incredibly individual characters who simply do not fit into a typical model of romance Hero and Heroine. I do not discuss plot in my reviews; in my mind the blurb reveals as much as the reader needs to know at the outset. I want the story to unfold as it should because Kailee R. Samuels is so very adept at peeling away layers of self, eventually revealing the inner depth of those people who inhabit her fictional worlds. I was completely caught up in this story. I had to leave it occasionally to care for family but as soon as I could I was back into its pages. I was thrilled, shocked, saddened and gladdened. This is what Kailee does to her readers. She makes us FEEL. Her words will run through your mind for hours to days after finishing her book. You’ll think about the events and the characters long after the story has ended.Like I said, I’m a fan girl, but I am by no means a simple one. If I recommend a book, that book moved and intrigued me on many different levels. I highly recommend this latest story. Of course I do. It was written by KRS.

I was torn with this book. It was an unusual story line, which I appreciated, it had the potential to be an amazing story! I guess the only thing that bothered me was the continual inconsistency of the leads especially Echo. She has graduated with a bachelor degree in psychology however can’t seem to figure anything out. One minute she is demure and shy about her body and the next she is offering blow jobs for a date. Then she meets Jynx and wants all these bad things to happen then doesn’t know if she can live with the outcome. Then she loves him but one small thing comes out and she runs from him (I mean she has known him a approx a week and she is supposed to know everything about him?) then she can’t live without him, then she runs away, then she comes back, then she runs away, then she comes back-Then they talk marriage then not sure if they can live with each other, then marriage, then not sure, all the back and forth happened just to many times! Once or even twice would have made the story so much better! As I said the story had real potential. However, after all of that said I am still glad I read the book. I would give this author another chance to see if all her books are written this way.

I was hesitant to read this because I am a survivor of incest and stories like this can bring back awful memories. I was reading the reviews and one reader basically stated to take a chance and read the book. I’m truly glad I did. This book had so many twists to the story line that I just gave up trying to predict the ending, as many romance books can be figured out today, and just enjoyed the characters and the journey. I was relieved that the sex scenes did not defile a woman’s character or insinuate that she got what was coming to her. This was a rough, at times, sex game between two consenting adults. I liked that these scenes did not go on and on with a lot of crude language. It was evident from the start they cared for each other. I gave four stares because Echo running away almost all the time got a little old for me. I know this was done to advance the story but I think 300 pages would have worked better than the extra 15 or so. Anyway I loved the hero of the story, there are many women still waiting for such a good looking man who has some money, brains, nice friends (okay skip the mafia), who just likes to be a little like a clothes dryer in bed, rough and tumble!!!! I rarely ever read a book in this genre but I am glad that I took a chance and you will be pleasantly surprised if you do to.

This book is all over the place. It’s very hard to like to characters and I’ve had about 5 pages so far fall out. Very disappointing.

  5. Em Dorsey ~A Darlin Doll ~

“Most people give anything to dream. But I would do anything to stop the nightmare.”BTEPD is dark but damn if it’s not sweet too. Jynx is possessive caring and deadly!! I loved the internal conversations that he had with himself. He was sweet and understanding but sharp and dangerous at the same time. I’m not quite sure what it says about me but I didn’t find him to be evil. I could never say mad at him. He built Echo up, taught her and helped her realize who she is meant to be.”it’s too late to stop me. The hunger, the craving, the desire— it’s already there. I have been watching and waiting.”My first thoughts on Echo were research gone bad or research gone good?? In the beginning I didn’t really feel her but that’s not exactly right, I just didn’t understand her what made her tick what exactly was her motive but has the story went on a things were revealed she became clearer and it became clear that she is the absolute perfect match for Jynx. I loved watching her grow and the evolution of her character.”I will sip, savor , and devour every last drop because I’m disciplined in my convictions.”This does have dark elements but it’s more than that. It’s about acceptance of yourself and all your flaws and growth. Jynx is so caring and sweet. I know that’s weird because he is just as ruthless but it’s the truth. He is dirty and rough outside and inside the bedroom. I couldn’t get enough! Highly recommend!!! “Claim me. Take me. Use me. Til the end.”

When someone recc’d this book it was on the basis that Jinx, the hero was ott j/p. I went in blind and didn’t know what I was getting .The writing jumped from scene to scene and it didn’t transition smoothly. It faded to black in several scenes. The characters were past nuts.Be prepared for some kinks and fetishes. Jinx is a dom who likes water sports or to be urinated on. Ewww . Not for me.Echo was just a strange girl . She was a 22 year old virgin who places an ad on the dark web. She wants to be raped. Not ravishment play . Raped and no names , the person disappears and she never wants to see them again .Jinx and her are too crazy for anyone else. I don’t want to give it all away and to be honest I couldn’t get past 40% when Abby told Jinx her father was a biker. It was totally out of the blue.I just couldn’t keep up with this story . It made my head spin and the characters were weird . Abby cried a ton and would whine . Why won’t it you rape me? I mean she acted like a desperate spoiled kid. I just can’t say anything more .

  7. Cicclv22

I really like the storyline idea of this book, but the transitions felt chaotic. I also didn’t find the FMC very likable after not getting her way. It felt like their feelings for each other happened too fast, but the dark moments were barely there before I decided to stop reading. I bought the book after seeing a tiktok and list of trigger warnings, but had yet to see much of anything 30-40% in.

This was my first ever K Samuels book, and definitely won’t be my last! Oh my gosh I seriously enjoyed this book a ton. It was like nothing I’ve personally read before. It was dark, yes. Should you check triggers, um very much yes. (Non-Con & CNC) But the storyline was beautiful. Something so wrong turns into SO much more. There is a ton of give and pull, you just keep rooting for these two. Absolutely loved Jynx’s character. He was that very morally gray character you always want in a dark read. Loved his story. Echo was also a perfect character. She was the best match for him. Her storyline pulled at my heartstrings so dang much. The two together was explosive and I was here for it all! I will admit I had to Google some things in this book. Out of total curiosity to understand the significance more. This cover and title alone drew me in! Absolutely could not be happier I found this author! Authors backlist here I come. And I’ll say it out loud now, I would so love Deacon & Sal’s story. Omg Deacon was amazing.

Meet Jynx and Echo. Neither of them is interested in a relationship. Both are carrying burdens from the past and the weight of their family’s expectations. Can broken people help heal each other, or is it just an implosion waiting to happen?“I inherited sadness from my mother.”- This resonated with me because there are millions of people that suffer from depression. Some can’t tell you why they feel bad, they just do. Echo is a runner, something I know well. It’s much easier to leave and protect what little thread you’re holding onto. It’s easier to push people away, keep your circle small, and forge through.I loved how this couple ties into the world that Kailee has created. I hope other reviewers leave their reviews as vague as I have. You need to go into reading this as blind as possible. You need to let the gifts Kailee has given in the writing wash over you as they come. Dark, romantic, and unapologetic, it’s a fantastic read.

  10. Kindle Customer

This is a long book with much more wordy inner dialog than ideal. The author seems to like using big words in this dialog. Do other people think in big, rarely used words? I know I don’t. That said, the story itself is appealing. Echo is a 22yr. old psych grad student who has a lot of baggage from the past. She is her own worst enemy, and in that vein, posts an add on the dark web for a rapist. She gets much more than she wanted in the form of Jinxx, 36 year old tech entrepreneur, BDSM Master and former biker. It takes three tries before she stops running away, from Jinxx and her own future. In my opinion, this book would be better with a third less of the inner dialog.Plot:4.7Writing:3.8Editing:5Characters:4.4Heat index:4.5

Jynx and Echo.He knows himself. Confident. Dominant. Deadly. A filthy gentleman. She’s young. Beautiful. Broken. She’s looking for something and even though she thinks she knows what that is, she has no idea. She writes an ad on the dark web thinking she will get what she wants. He finds her.He thinks he’s going to help her.But she becomes his game changer. And I literally fell in love with every aspect of this beautiful, mouth-watering story. And that is exactly what their journey is…. mouth-watering. She falls, he drags her back from the pit like a savior only to further corrupt her.She pushes, he pulls. She runs. He waits.Jynx is a delicious combination of Sal and Deacon from Ms. Kailee’s TAT series. And though this is a standalone, one can only hope for more of Jynx and Echo’s drool worthy story to be written. You will NEVER be disappointed by Ms. Kailee’s words. Dive in. Enjoy. Be open. It’s a game changer.

  12. Mom Kimery

Oh my!!! Filthy F$%$% Gentleman and his Echo!Echo is a 22-year-old college student with an unusual request. Jynx is a “southern gentleman”, 15 years older, with his own demons. The two go through many ups and DOWNS. It is a well-written love story but there are many dark things lurking in the pages. This book touched my soul on so many levels. It’s the next morning and again I have a book hangover. Not many authors do this to me but Kailee Reese Samuels has been added to my top 5 authors. This is the first book I have read from Kailee and can’t wait to read more.

  13. Jennifer Mitchell

I went in reading this book blind. And I honestly think that is the only way to go about it. I stumbled on this book accidentally and chose to dive it. While it’s not my genre or trope I read, I still thought it was a good read. And even in the review it’s hard to summarize this book as I strongly feel it’s better to go into this completely blind and open minded. This book won’t be for everyone.

  14. K Reviews

Alright. The story is pretty unique, and I like the CNC content a lot. However, the constant running away and coming back was a bit too much. The back and forth was hard to keep up with at both of the MC’s were in their own heads too much. They recapped things that just happened too often. Overall it was good and I liked the idea but I would have liked less break ups, you know?3.5⭐️ 3/5🌶

  15. Angela Thomas

This one ticks all the boxesAge gap, standalone, captive romance, dark and HEA.Meet JynxI wasn’t a killer.I was a stalker.Problem?I ain’t got one.Run far away, girl!Don’t grin at me.Don’t taunt the wicked. One very bad man is considering doing something horrifically vile to save you.I absolutely adore Jynx and Echo! Both know what they want. Echo just doesn’t know how to get there, so she does the unthinkable. An ad posted to the dark web. Together Jynx and Echo over come many things, as well as some they never seen coming. Settle in with this very special couple as they tell there story. You won’t be sorry!God, he’s freaking perfect.

  16. Danielle B.

Whoa. My mind is still spinning after finishing this story. The taboo nature is what caught my attention, but diving into the characters psyches is what reeled me in. The layers of emotion and complicated feelings was exactly what I needed. My only complaint would be that I found myself scratching my head a couple times over a few points in the story.

  17. KC

Heed all the book warnings and be sure you have the necessary supplies: tacos and your favorite beverage(s). Now you’re ready to dive into this unique romance…Yes, this is a dark + romance age-gap story. Dark because of Jynx and Echo’s childhoods and how it ultimately shaped them, romance because they are everything each other needs but it takes a lot of work to truly realize it, and the age-gap works beautifully because Echo needs Jynx’s life experience as much as Jynx needs Echo’s youthful innocence.Their story takes you on an emotional journey, fraught with highs and lows, trials and tribulations, and equally satisfying moments. You’re in for a good time!

  18. urmommas

I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy this book considering I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for the next TAT and was so sad I had to wait even longer for it cuz of this book BUT I absolutely loved it!!! Jynx and Echo fit in so well in the world Kailee created and I can’t wait to see more of them!

I honestly think I might need to seek professional help for my brain. How is it possibly to love such a dirty work of art? It is so dark, but so genius.

  20. starorchids

Hot, dirty, raw, and full of grit. It’s unexpected, pushing boundaries and limits while making you sweat. Riveting story with unexpected turns all the while leaving you craving the next page.

  21. Scott Ryan

Wow. Just wow. Boy, is Jynx patient. (Then Not lol) Both he and Echo have serious issues with commitment. (Very understandable)Finding someone who understands you, better than you understand yourself? Priceless!

  22. Katie J Miller

The story was kind of all over the place, very wordy like they went through with a thesaurus and just changed words…. echo is super whiney and I’m not a fan of her, jinx is an okay character but the character development and other characters were random and don’t fit. I really wanted to like this book but overall, random, cringey, and disappointing.

Sorry I won’t be hurtful to an author.I stuck with it to the end and wish I had KU so it didn’t cost me anything.

I rarely DNF a book, but I made it about 35% (160 pages) in before I threw in the towel. The premises was great and it started off good and then it just got sappy/stale. There was no pick-up and I was so bored.

  25. Kim

This was very hard to follow.. most of the time I didn’t feel like I knew what was going on. Echo was whiney her character was annoying. I love a dark romance but this was not good.

  26. Jeraca

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review. The author said this is one of her happier books that she’s written, and I’m very glad this was my first book by her! It’s a good book to ease into her writing style and see if this author would be a good fit for your reading tastes.I definitely enjoyed this book and seeing the two characters intensely struggle over the decisions they are faced shows how much they are growing into themselves. There was a lot of back and forth, running from the present issues, not communicating to one another that got a bit repetitive at times. But I loved the sweet moments that occurred. This book packs a lot of heavy messages and I think the characters were depicted well with in each issue. This was the first book like this that I’ve read, and I’ll definitely be intrigued with more novels by this author!

  27. Autumn

Of course I went in blind. Page two had my eyes popping outta my head and me choking on water. Can’t say I have seen that story line before. No I’m not gonna tell you read the damn book if you wanna know. After page two I thought I knew what this book would be about but I was wrong. And really idk how I feel about it. It read like a kink slow burn and I just expected a bit more. What can I say the bar was set high pretty quickly.I like Jynx he was definitely an interesting character. Echo definitely one of the most unique characters I’ve ever read. At the same time shes young and so wishy washy it drove me insane and gave me whiplash. So many times I thought oh okay this is almost over only to look at the % left and hahaha I wasn’t even close. Beautiful Things Evil People Do is dramatic, kinky af and oddly enough what I would call a slow burn.

Beautiful Things Evil People Do – Kailee SamuelsReview5/5 starsTriggers: Rape, Violence, Stalking, Abuse, Drug Addiction, Crime, Suicide, BDSMI’ve needed to write this review for over a week and honestly today is the first time I’ve been able to organize my thoughts to do it. This book will f$_k with your head in the incredible and unexpected ways. It will also take you down some really really dark paths. I always try to put trigger warning but I’m going to stress it here this is an 18+ book with very very dark themes and events. There is heavy exploration of BDSM and sexual acts that you may not agree with and may trigger some readers. Please take this warning seriously. If you don’t have triggers or manage to read Beautiful Things taking care not to activate your triggers your are in for a ride that is totally unique. I’ve never ever read a book that has been written like this. It is at one time a sweet romance with a slow slow build up to sex and a very very dark dirty, at times frightening, romance. You honestly never know 100% what everyone’s goals, what their pasts are, or what their motives are. The reveals are pretty shocking you just do not see them coming. Echo and Jynx are two people who aren’t looking for love or a relationship, in fact, they’ve been avoiding those things and yet the pull between the two is undeniable. Their love ends up making sense in an extremely unusual way. What they consider good sex may actually offend or turn off a lot of people but to them it’s the ultimate act of love and trust. The only book I can compare it to is @jadewestauthor Bait. Like Jade West, Kailee Samuels has an extremely strong writing voice. You’ll know when you’re reading her. The vocabulary had me thànking God for my dictionary feature at times. (I rarely have to look up word means) Her descriptions and dialogue is often littered with beautiful phrases. They reminded me of a lyrical poem that winds it’s way to a conclusion. Occasionally, I wished for tighter dialogue but mostly I loved how the characters spoke of things that we all feel and often have trouble putting in words.Echo and Jynx find beautiful ways to say things. It’s a stark contrast to the things they do at night and the language they use in their darker sexual acts. This contrast is masterfully done. You slowly get emersed in the world Echo and Jynx inhabite during the day and the darker grittier world they play in at night. For anyone on the fence please give this book a try. Fans of Amo Jones, Penelope Douglas, Jade West, and Giana Darling this book is right up your alley. This book is a five star read. I wish I could give it many more stars than that.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a beautiful sexy story that is not at first what it appears to be. I will say don’t look for spoilers or read too many reviews before reading this book. It is really best to go in blind as to not spoil the experience. That is what I did and am I oh so glad I did. I didn’t even read the blurb. I just knew it was a dark romance of some mystery and definite sexiness. It is that and so much more. The hero and heroine somehow managed to elicit my sympathy even when they were not being great people. Their inherent sadness spoke to me in an empathetic way. I can’t relate to them in some ways and yet in others they spoke to my very soul. They were dark, sad people drawn to each other for reasons that aren’t quite as easy to see on the surface. Their connection is palpable and yet there is so much darkness and unspeakable things…Again go in blind and allow yourself to become immersed and surrounded in the darkness that is this book. It is not a safe place and yet there is no better place in the world to be for these two lovers.

  30. Hailey Smith

This review does have potential triggers in it.When I tell you this book is wild, I mean it is WILD. There’s no sugarcoating how crazy this story gets. Do not read this story unless you are looking for something very dark and extremely spicy. We have a stalker who wants to save a girl from her own desires, but also wants to give her what she wants, and we have a girl who put an ad up online to be r@ped. Definitely not your conventional love story. The girl is then kidnapped and practically gets Stockholm Syndrome. There were many times when I almost stopped reading because of how uncomfortable I became, but I pushed through reading it because I wanted to find out if Echo and J were going to get together. There’s never a dull moment in this story, but please make sure to heed the warnings. This story contains cnc, bdsm, stalker, r@pe fantasy, one scene of watersports, child abuse, r@pe, physical and graphic violence. There may even be some things that I missed.Overall, the story was really good and slightly horrifying.

  31. Irma J. (Irma The Book Whisperer)

This blurb slays, to be completely honest. It’s what got my attention in the first place. If I knew the genre, I would probably never pick this book up. Why? Simple, I enjoy other genres more. And that is why I’m glad I have listened to my six sence and have indeed reached for it.Beautiful Things Evil People Do is not an easy read. In my opinion it is complexed, dark and extremely multilayered. Pretty much like it’s main character Jynx. I liked Echo, most of the time. But I loved him.The writing is ritch and smooth.I suggest going into Beautiful Things Evil People Do blindly. That way you’ll be able to experience it to it’s fullest.

  32. Yvette H

DARK AGE GAP ROMANCE. This is a new author for me. I am not really into captive romances but I did enjoy this read. It is much more than that. the blurb will grab you and the story will not disappoint . the story is unpredictable and will keep your turning the pages. the relationship between Jynx and Echo is complex yet it works. it starts with an ad and what develops is something neither thought they wanted or expected. The story is well written. Both characters grow and get a real HEA. More detail will rob you of reading a great story.

  33. Gin

What did I just read? I’m gobsmacked! It is magnificent with its beautiful twisted path to love filled with pain and destruction. Spectacular characters, Jynx and Echo, are an unlikely pair. She’s an innocent and he’s a bad man. They’re a terrific pair with dark urges and dark histories. I’m new to this author and I didn’t know what I was missing. I’m always looking for something different and not the usual HEA romance. I think there’s an alternate journey that doesn’t always end with the fairytale and this story fits that model. This definitely isn’t a light and fluffy read. What starts out as research for Echo/Abby’s Masters degree turns into a twisted journey with stalker Jynx/Jeremiah pulling her into a different reality. It’s not what she asked for but so much better. I fell in love with the Dominant Jynx with his bad boy ways and BDSM proclivities. How could she possibly resist the sexy hunk? The two have a sizzling heat that explodes off the pages. There are twists and turns and surprising links to the characters. So much going on in the story and some was on the far side of believable but it was so captivating with a really dark undertone that I went with it. Stalkers, bikers, mafia, business moguls, hackers and farm animals. This author has a unique style to her writing that was a reach for me sometimes with all the proses and symbolism and flowery phrasing. By the end I was worn out but so happy with this story and I’ve added a new author to my list of must reads. I can’t wait to get started on the backlog of this author’s books, especially Deacon and Sal’s story. This one satisfied that dark little place in my heart that longs for the dirty side of love. Absolutely fantastic! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

Wow! What can I say! This book is Pure Pleasure. Dirty. Decadent. Provocative. Scintillating—pretty much sums up my review. This book…this dark, edgy, guttural with gritty issues romance lulled me into a false sense of security. I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened, but it is jaw-dropping good! Twisted from start to finish and filled with shock, gasps, adrenaline and abundance of dark holy hotness! Kailee Samuels will keep you glued to the pages of this captivating story, and it will be hard to put this down once you get started. This book is flawlessly and poignantly written about Jynx and Echo’s story. This is an intoxicating tale of two people finding acquiescence within themselves and with one another. Echo is a young beautiful woman who does not fear her safety, but she knows what she wants—no relationship for sure. For her final research paper, she wanted to try something different by being open minded—no preconceived judgment—so she posted a sexual ad. Jynx is an enigma of a man who is sexy as hell, arrogant, impenetrable, hard, controlling, and he gets what he wants—right now, he wants Echo. Jynx responds to Echo’s ad. Jynx and Echo consumed me with their intensity! Their chemistry is so alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another perfectly. How far would you go for the one you loved? Find out what happens with Jynx and Echo. You will be amazed. Kailee Samuels took me through several emotional gamuts and pushed all my buttons. I feel like I got off a crazy roller coaster ride from hell! I was enthralled from start to finish. Kailee Samuels you did it! You delivered a no holds barred dark romance that grips readers to the core as you unleash an unfiltered, powerful, intriguing, and calculating love story. I HIGHLY recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Y’all, I stepped out of every comfort zone I ever imagined having with this story and I can honestly say that this is the first book that has literally left me speechless. Like I don’t even feel as if I can leave a legitimate book review because my brain is a complete and utter train wreck. I have all of these questions and emotions swirling around from intrigue to confusion and everything in between however it was delivered so poetically and heartbreakingly beautiful that I couldn’t put it down even if I wanted to.

This is Jynx and Echo’s journey of self-discovery. Both characters have past which have shaped them into becoming these complex and tormented people they are today. This is a well written story which is dark, intense, emotional, and with twists, and relatable, multi layered, and engaging characters which all leads to a steamy all-consuming and riveting addictive page turner. I was hooked throughout, and this talented author has the gift of weaving a story in such a way that her story’s just need to be devoured in one sitting. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Well what can I say……. This book and let’s be honest with you here, any book by Kailee we know we’re getting a stonker of a book!!!!!! I love Kailee and anything she writes, ( she’s my unicorn author) she has all of me, she has my body, heart, and soul just everything gets me while reading one of her books. This ticks all the boxes for me….Age gap ✅Dark romance ✅Captive romance ✅Happy ever after ✅Strong female lead ✅Dark and handsome Dominant male lead✅I adored Jynx and Echo’s relationship both knew what they wanted and they went full steam ahead for it!!!!! When Echo places an ad on the dark web boy does she not know what she’s letting herself in for, she thinks she does but yeah she didn’t expect Jynx to rock up in her life. Now let’s talk about Jynx wow I thought I was in love with Sal but now I have a new book boyfriend and I can tell you this man will make you swoon!!!! Yes he kidnaps Echo to teach her some life lessons and yes in some places you wanna scream run girl, run…… But that’s just cause I ruddy love a chase lolol. But both of these characters don’t want a full time relationship, they are both screwed up in their own ways, both have family issues, they both don’t want love, but….. Will it happen? All in all another it’s another stonker of a book from Kailee I freaking loved this book so hard!!!! And ladies Jynx is perfect!!!!!!! Please please please read this book or any book by Kailee, I can tell you, you won’t be disappointed!!!!

I can’t put into words how much I loved this book but I expect no less from this author. It’s dark, gritty and dirty and I loved every page. What a wild ride this one was and you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful Things Evil People Do is a heartbreakingly beautiful, dark romance between Jynx and Echo. I don’t want to give away too much about this beautifully written book because this is one of those books that you definitely need to read yourself and let yourself get taken by the captivating story. Jynx and Echo’s journey of love is a dark and intense one filled with passion, pain, heartbreak, steam, and twists that left me breathless and speechless. I absolutely love Ms. Samuel’s writing because I can escape into an amazing world of intriguing characters even if it’s just for a few hours. I highly recommend this book and this author to everyone wanting to escape with a fabulous storyteller.

I want to first say, I am a fan of Kailee’s other books, particularly the TAT books. I went into this book knowing her style, and knowing that this was “different” from her previous works. She did not lie. This story was wonderfully written (as all of her books are), reminds me of her TAT world, yet was a completely different take. And I LOVED IT.Kailee takes her time with her characters and provides us with the most beautifully broken people in Jynx and Echo. I refuse to reveal any plot for this story. Go in blind. Enjoy this masterfully written journey of Jynx and Echo. Your heart and mind with thank you.A warning, Kailee never holds back. She shows the good and bad and absolute depravity in her characters. But if you dare to take the journey, you will not be disappointed.

5 Evil Stars!! Powerful and Insanely addicting!Echo and Jynx meet in an unconventional way but these two are a perfect combo of mess and darkness but for them it seems to work. Echo lives her life with no regard for anyone else and she’s fine with that. Jynx does the same thing but even darker. And despite all of this they somehow manage to have a relationship together…. and that’s all I’m going to say. This book is twisted, dark, and insanely good! Kailee Reese Samuels sucked me in from page one and that was it! I didn’t put the book down until I was done! I love a book that will keep me guessing until the end and that’s just what this one did! You become invested in the characters and the story, which these days is hard to find!! Definitely worth the one click!

Jynx and Echo….not the usual love story. And yes, I am calling it a love story, we all define them differently.Echo writes an ad looking for something unconventional.Jynx answers the ad.What begins after that is the start of a relationship between two people that need exactly what the other has to offer.I enjoyed reading this love story unfold and walking through each stage with this couple until they reached their HEA.Total newb to Kailee Samuels and let me tell you how she grabbed me from page one and I knew I would need to go back and read her other books.

It took one ad to attract one stalker. This is the story of Echo and Jynx and one you will not forget. Echo is young, intelligent and inexperienced looking to stand out and complete her paper. She would never be prepared for what she got. Jynx is a confident alpha with a past that will go and take what he wants and he wants Echo. I felt every emotion for them both, at times going back and forth between like and hate but definitely fell hard especially for Jynx. Kailee writes exceptional dark stories and complicated characters and has a way of making you fall in love with them. BTEPD is dark and romance done like no other and a definite must read.

This dark and romantic, boundary pushing page turner is raw, twisted in a delicious way, and absolutely phenomenal. When I heard Kailee was releasing a book title Evil Things Beautiful People Do, my mind went crazy with with ideas of what she’d deliver to us. Her writing never ceases to amaze me and BTEPD did not disappoint. The characters are absolutely amazing and perfect for each other. The storyline grips you from early on and keeps pulling you deeper throughout the entire book.I loved Jynx and Echo. I’m sure you will too. If you love it dark then I highly recommend BTEPD to you!🖤🖤

If you are a sensitive reader heed the warnings! This is most definitely not a book for everyone however if you are into an incredibly dark and twisted adventure of words get ready to leap. While this is a dark read there is an underlying psychological aspect to this book that completely captured me and didn’t let me go through all the twists and turns. One of her best works to date and I am so glad she shared this one with the world!

  48. Karin B

Jynx and Echos story had me locked in from page one! Echo has little to no regard for her safety and when she places a ad that easily is about to put her in harms way Jynx decides to look into Echo. Neither was looking for anything but Jynx is determined to teach her a lesson.

Wow what a highly recommended book to read that has many twists and dark turns that will have you going through a raw read in this intense book. This story will have you hooked from the very first page tell the ending.. this story will have you feeling the book hangover after reading and loving the story and feeling the emotional feeling throughout this dark raw read.

This is one story I devoured and could not put down. The heck with sleep. I stayed up way too late falling in love with Jynx and Echo. The writing is superb with the author weaving a romance that is a mixture dark and sweet. Everything these characters encounter, you feel as you become immersed in their world. Do not be one to miss out on this incredible story. Make sure it’s on your must read list!!

This book captured my attention and would not let go. There were so many times I wanted to throw my kindle or jump through it and smack both Jynx and Abby. I have also found my new favorite passage.”I ran into some trouble with a guy named Jim Beam and his friend, Jose Cuervo. They dulled my a** nightly and kept winning by a wide margin.”The best line I have read in a long time.I highly recommend this book.

  52. Jenna Bostick

Once again, Kailee has left me speechless. There is not one thing this woman writes that isn’t perfection. From the first word, to the last, her words have captured and kept my attention. Although different from her TAT books, this story did not disappoint. I love the character development of Jynx and Echo. So beautifully broken and complicated. This is a must read, beautifully written and will keep you coming back for more. Truly a fan for life!!!

This read Had me totally sucked in! Echo, a total spitfire who while quite a tough cookie, is still finding who she is. Then there’s Echo…drool-worthy, Echo. He knows what he likes and what he wants. This duo’s chemistry is addicting and this read is sure to have you hooked from the go!

I went in blind, and I’m not sorry I did!Man, Beautiful Things Evil People Do, is fantastic well written. Filled with great chemistry and intimacy between Jynx and Echo.KRS knows how to weave intricate stories with plots and twist you don’t see coming. But most of all, she knows how to keep you on your toes!

  55. Kristy Crow

Love comes at you in many different ways. My love for Kaylee for instance comes through her writing. Although this book is not part of her original Sal plan she outdid herself once again. Love blossoms where you least expect it and some may never think it will here. Will it? you have to read it to find out

  56. Jennifer Zapata

I absolutely love every single thing Kailee writes. I loved how this book tied in other characters from her other books. I love a good hea and boy did this one deliver! You can definitely feel the love between Jynx and Echo! They were definitely made for each other!

  57. TINA WILLIAMS

This book is a beautifully written, age gap, captive, dark romance with such a unique plot and I devoured each page with a voracious hunger. Every now and then a book comes along that is refreshingly different and surprising that you keep thinking about it for days. Beautiful Things Evil People Do was that book for me. I fell in love with Jynx and Echo, two kindred spirits both burdened by ghosts from the past and stumbling through life. This book is unpredictable with so many gritty twists and turns that I don’t want to even hint at in this review. This book made me laugh, cry, overheat, growl and think. This is a powerful, five star story that must be read.

Disclaimers: I recieved this as an ARC and I am a fan of the author.Ok, I feel like I need to write two reviews. One for people who haven’t read Kailee Reese Samuels before, and another those who have.So if you haven’t read her before I would advise you to pour a glass of wine (or the whole bottle) and get comfortable, because you may not be comfortable again until the end of the book. For those who have, prepare to be shook with a full blown HEA!Echo is a young woman trying to forge her own way in the world. She doesn’t want a man. But she does want a sexual encounter of the extreme variety. In search of this she posts an online ad with her requirements.Jynx is the type of guy who NEVER entertains the same woman twice and is a self proclaimed A-hole. When he learns of the ad, his better nature kicks in and it’s decided he needs to step in before someone else does the unthinkable. Their worlds collide in spectacular fashion. This book if for grown folks, and I don’t just mean 18+. Although a full fledged romance, it has some very dark sexual overtones that will not be suitable for everyone. So that is your fair warning. Put your big girl panties on and enjoy!

    Suspense!!
It’s hard for me to get into books, this one at first had a slow burn but it was so so worth it to see it all come together in the most beautifully messed up way.

    Deliciously erotic and emotional
Each time I open one of Kailee Samuels’ story, I like to go in totally blind, and I hope you’ll do the same than me.With such tiltle, Beautiful Things Evil People Do, my curiosity was piqued right away, and my mind went into overdrive with the anticipation. From cover to cover Jynx and Echo’s story captivated me. It felt so easy to get immersed into the intense atmosphere. I felt I could wander into Jynx’ property. Scene after scene, the author kept painting these striking visuals where the emotions were as powerful as the delightful decors.Echo and her guilty fantasies take the reader on a bumpy journey. KRS explored a wide range of emotions, building a tale as raw as sweet, as playful as deliciously erotic, always with the outmost justesse. The dueling emotions Echo experienced felt palpable. Under Jynx’ patience and Dominance, the young woman revealed herself. Their chemistry was undeniable. I absolutely loved their intimacy. The age gap had me fan myself.Echo and Jynx blur the lines, you will find no labels to put on things. BEAUTIFUL THINGS EVIL PEOPLE DO definitely lives to its title. Letting go of the preconceived ideas never felt so good. Open your mind and you’ll be surprised by the direction the storyline takes. This story shows that it’s okay to be different, to have desires, that even scarred and fighting your demons, you can find someone. An equilibrium and acceptance.Breathless and a bit disheveled, I turned the last page, feeling good and with a huge smile on my face. Thanks to their heartfelt story, Jynx and Echo became one of my favorite couple. I hope we will have more of them in the future.

    What in the what?
Directionless book that tries to fulfill any and all erotic novel tropes. Story is a mess, DNF.

    Uhhhh
2.5starsSo first let me say I found this book on Tik Tok and was intrigued with the premise, r#pe fantasy is not something I’ve seen in a lot of books. So I picked it up and was sucked in within the first few chapters, I can hear you asking so why the very low rating? Well for me it just fell apart, Echo turned pretty cringey, Jynx said he wasn’t going to sleep with her so she threw a tantrum like a child and that really really grinds my gears, just accept it and move on. One minute she was throwing a tantrum then the next she was laughing and smiling while talking about cereal. I know my review will be in the minority considering all the 5 stars I’ve seen, but I just couldn’t bring myself to like it.
